Santa Rosa / Sonoma County
« on: June 12, 2009, 10:59:04 PM »
Hello to any and all.

If you're in or near Santa Rosa, CA, well, so am I.  There's a few of us with more than a year in parkour training and various other backgrounds.  We train together every week, can teach you, love traveling out of town to big jams and we can easily be found on SFPK.

Cheers, hope to meet you!

-Beretta

P.S. Feel free to contact me as well!

I used to live in Petaluma but moved up to Auburn. I come back to the area about every other weekend and would love to meet up with you guys if you are out and about on the weekends. We should try to coordinate if at all possible.

Yup!  We should coordinate!  I just sent you a PM with my phone number.

Also, there's a good group of traceurs that meet in Sacramento on Wednesdays and Sundays.  It's not that far from Auburn, but the traffic on 80's horrible due to Tahoe tourists on Sundays.  They train at Bella Vista High on Madison Ave., if there's a highway route that avoids 80, you'd save tons of time.

You can find them online here, and Santa  Rosa here.

Thanks for the wealth of info and I will surely give you a call when I am heading down to the Bay Area.

I'm right down in Petaluma and attend the SRJC. I'm still new to parkour, though I'm interested. I've done a good amount of jumping, vaulting, and climbing ever since I can remember, just hadn't realized that parkour is basically the same thing except more finely tuned and with some new things to try. For now I thought I'd just let ya know that there's someone else in the area. I'll be doing a lot of regular exercise for now as well as practicing the basics, but maybe in the future I'll get in contact with some fellow traceurs in the area and meet up.

Ditch, glad to know you're training!

There's a group of around 5 or so of us that train in Santa Rosa every week.  Training with others is the best way to speed up your progress, IMHO.  If you'd like to know when and where, see this thread on SFPK and post if you're coming.  Sometimes we all head to jams out of the area together, so, be sure to let us know you're coming!

Look forward to meeting you.

This is awesome. I've wanted to get into Parkour for a while but haven't had anyone to train with and I'm really worried about teaching myself how to do things (in case I start practicing how to do them wrong). I just thought to check the boards here for a Santa Rosa group and you were right at the top of the forums. Amazing really.

Anyway, I attend SRJC and used to do basic free running when I was in Judo but I didn't know what I was doing at the time. If you all meet regularly and can give me a time or place, I'd love to stop by and train with you all. Anything info you'd be willing to give me would be great. Thank you much!

Anyone interested in going to the SFPK Monthly Jam this Sunday?

If so, meet me at Santa Rosa High School Sunday at 10:30 AM.  Meet in the student parking lot just east of Ridgeway Swim Center on Ridgeway Dr.  We'll leave by 10:45 AM.  PM me here or on SFPK to confirm if you want to come.  Bring $ for food/gas and water!  We'll figure out who's driving and all that once we get to SRHS.

Hope to see you guys there!  It's tons of fun, great people, good times, open to all levels from beginner to elite.

Info on the jam
SFPK Waiver, Read before attending.

I'm not quite up for a trip out of the area yet, and I'm working anyway, but I may be able to make a Tuesday. I'll have to double check my work schedule, but I believe it's open. I'll keep an eye on SFPK.

Hey, I'd like to come to one of your training sessions (tomorrow, tuesday the 18th of August) but I don't know where you're meeting. I have class at the JC before and after so, assuming that it's within reasonable driving distance, I'd really love to go. If someone can reply to this or email me at SerenityAngel14@gmail.com, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you very much!

I'll email you.  Because we're all in school, we're dropping tuesdays and it's gonna be Sundays only.  I'll be on campus tomorrow too.  My Anthro class gets out at 4:30, so maybe we can meet up then and talk for a minute.

Ah bummer. I was hoping to meet up with ya's tomorrow. Tuesdays work better than Sundays for me, but I should still be able to make it (as long as it's morning-early afternoon). I'll send ya a PM with my contact info.

Dude! You're taking anthro with Benson! I have that tomorrow too! That's awesome. Great teacher. I'll see you then.

I won't be able to make this Sunday. I'm gonna be at Tahoe. I plan on showing up the following Sunday though.

No worries, we'll see you in September, then!

It was good to meet you, I was impressed by your abilities, too!  Have fun in Tahoe.

Correction, I won't be going to Tahoe, due unfortunately to a cold I've come down with. Unless I'm feeling better come Sunday then I still won't be there. I'll be doing my best to get well and hoping to be able to make it.

[EDIT]

Nope, I'm not making it. I'm still at 99.5°F and feeling very blah. Have fun. I'll be back next weekend.

Hey, this week I'm going to UC Berkeley to train and I don't know if anyone else will be in town.  Call me if you want to come with me!

I won't be able to make it to Berkeley unfortunately (due to time constraints), but I can do the regular SRHS. If anybody else is in the same boat, let me know and I'll certainly meet up there.
