Have you ever actually been called out when not wearing shoes? As a little kid, I would take off my shoes to play on the gym, then go inside and order something. Maybe its not the same thing, but I think the intent is really "We have the right to refuse service for random reasons."

Injuries - Discussion / sore vs pain
« on: May 02, 2010, 11:09:36 AM »
I been practicing rolls and kong vaults a lot lately and I've been getting sore in my lower back. When I roll, I feel absolutely no discomfort so I think I'm doing it right, but then why am I having light pain later?

Parkour / Kong vaults
« on: April 14, 2010, 04:50:31 PM »
I'm working on my kong vaults and they're coming along well. My question is when I use my hands, should I be slapping the surface I push off of? I've been practicing on a metal picnic table and when I push off there is a loud metal "clang." Is this correct or am I misusing my hands?

Parkour / Rolling with something on your back
« on: April 14, 2010, 04:44:44 PM »
I was watching Casino Royal the other day and the traceur at the beginning of the movie was impressing me. I was studying his techinque when I noticed he rolled with a backpack on. This pack held a bomb. Ignoring the fact that he slammed an explosive on the ground, is it practical or even possible to effectively roll when you have something on your back? I've never tried it, but it seems that doing so could be extremely painful. What if you have something on your back and have to jump off a high ledge? Should you bend your legs or try to attempt the roll?

Movement / Landing, the use of hands, and 90 degrees.

When I land without a roll, I put my hands down to help absorb some of the impact and then start moving forward to bleed off the rest of my momentum. Should I be doing this or just landing straight? Also, I bend my knees more than 90 degrees when I land. I hear this is bad. Care to explain?

Parkour / how to drop and run
« on: February 24, 2010, 06:41:57 PM »
Im pretty good at landing correctly, but i noticed that since my feet are side by side when i land, its a little difficult to keep a smooth flow going. Iv heard that the best way is to land with one foot forward so you can keep running easily, but wouldnt this be dangerous because it puts all your wieght on one foot? or am i just doing it wrong?
