I have the same problem a lot of the time. I say you just need to practice. Ive been going for 8 months, and it still hurts my hip a lot of the time. I found that if I make my rolls more forward in direction, just rolling along one side of my spine until near the end of the roll, it helps a lot. That is, I roll on one side of my back until the ground starts to come to my hip, then switch sides and have the ground only touch the space between the hip bone and spine, continuing downward toward your legs until your feet hit the ground. So when people show the diagram of the line going between the shoulder and hip, I just bend that line to go straight down near the end. Its kind of hard to explain. Hope it helped though.
