OK not trying to steal your thunder but us guys off overflux have a gym we visit in Alpharetta, Ga called SEGA gymnastics. It's a great place for PK, tricking, break-dancing, or just plain old gymnastics. It only cost ten bucks and is every Sat. from 1-6 if anyone wants any more info on the place I could hand it out. The great thing about it is you get everthing you could want from a gymnastics place. Trampoline, Tumbling Tramps.,Foam Pit, Spring Floors(3 of 'em), like 4 sets of adjustable un-even bars, tons of balance beams(seriously tons like more than 10[they're perfect for vaults]), stackable mats of various shapes and sizes, and the owners are some of the nicest people I've ever met. Also on occasion they fly in big names in the fore-mentioned disiplines for training sessions with the pros. It's an awesome place.

Parkour And Freerunning / Re: What kind of sweats do you guys wear?
« on: June 27, 2009, 05:17:48 PM »
Personally I prefer to not wear anything at all while doing parkour. It brings new meaning to the natural training method. No but seriously I normally wear either Sweats or These wierd kind of long pants that are meant for sport. The type I wear is either Addidas or Champion but to be honest I could care less what brand of pant I have on.

At first I couldn't tell I that was a pimp or a Black Leprechaun.

I just hope instead of banishing us to isolated areas they embrace parkour as a what it is, a better way of getting around. Hopefully they don't start parkour-proofing things like they did with skateboarding

That second vid. was amazing that's impresive. I know fit people who can't the concept of a palm spin into their heads. Also he dosen't do a cheat speed vault he does the real thing, kudos to him

and since everyone else is doing it I'm 5'8" and weigh 135lbs.

Trust me I know exactly wat your talking about, nothing annoys me more than the people who run around thinkiing that they are ninjas. I mean it's okay to a certain extent but at a point it gets to be too much. Also I dislike the people who think they do Parkour because they can jump off a roof not roll and just tear their knees to pieces. Is any body with me on this or am I all alone on the roof thing? Also whats the deal with tricker guys who do moves outside on concrete and call it freerunning.

Me and some of my friends play capture the flag with the field house at our school being one base and the other base being the school itself. We put the flags on the roof and the goal is to get the flag. If you get tagged at the other team's base you must drop the flag (if you have it) and return to your base. It helps if you have about 6 or more people on each team and normally we have one person be the ref.

All fences have a metal bar at the top that they use for stability. I like to grab this from a jump and hang in a cat position then do a quick turn vault or a stradle type where you land on the top of the fence with only your shoes then jump down and roll.

Parkour And Freerunning / Re: Mirror's Edge 2
« on: May 31, 2009, 06:50:39 PM »
I've given this plenty of hours day dreaming in class. As for the story line Y'all hit the nail on the head! After destroying the servers that control the city the governments reign over the people is disrupted. The city becomes a darker, less perfect city. Crime rate spikes up and the runners begin to florish once again. After Mercury's death Faith takes to the head of the runners. The main character you play is a runner, (customizable of course) not at the bottom of the totum pole but not at the top either. You start by just being a transit runner delivering packages and intel. But as you remeber Faith never really killed off the project Icuras guys. They are still the main threats to the runners. As the game progresses you move upin ranking. This happens because of your sucess on your missions and because some of the higher ups get pick off by the Icuras guys. Since the corruption of the government has been exposed some of the Blues have shifted sides. They are the runners proctectors. Trying to keep them safe on missions. Now by protecting them I don't mean that they follow them and that the runners are poor combatants. I mean the they are stationed around on roof tops with thier sniper rifles and will asist you when possible. The combat system should remain the same no overly fancy martial arts. As for the movement, as for the vaults have the kind of slow mo joy stick control, just instead of controlling the feet they control hand placement. Like say for a monkey or kong vault( depending on your speed) you click both and push them outward in opposite directions while coiling. For a stradle vault you click and push the joysticks toward each other, for a speed click and push the desired hand's coresponding joystick outwards, for the lazy it starts like a speed vault but you use the other joystick and push it inwards before you let go. This would really open up the possibilities for the flow factor. As for the wall runs keep them the way they are just shortening the horzontal ones distance. Also when in the air you could use the right trigger for the aerial movements kinda like in tony hawks proving grounds just with the right trigger. The graphics should get a little more dark and realistic. It was hard to do turn downs on the original game, improve this somehow. Make the game open sand box style with lots of branching stories. Also as for multiplayer make it so that the story and multiplayer would be seperate trying to do anything else would be lucrative. Make a section of the city controlled by the runners(identified in the story kinda like the training grounds in the first one but on a much more massive scale) for the multiplayer world. I think that this would be the ideal Mirror's Edge 2.

If I should explain anything let me know.

Movement / Re: Turning in a jump for an enclosed roll
« on: May 31, 2009, 06:00:09 PM »
Wow would have never thought that my practicing this very senario would come in handy one day. This is how I go about doing it, first I jump down the stairs(duh), next I prepare for the landing by that I mean I kinda turn about 30-50 degrees toward the opening I can roll into, then upon impact I absorb as if I'm landing a precision, but before my momentum comes to a complete stop (I'm traveling foward at about 50% of my starting speed) I pivot on my feet the remaining 60-40 degrees and do my roll. So what I mean by pivoting on my feet is as I'm coming down into my squat I turn my body (like your doing a 180 without picking your feet up) and place my hands down and since you still have about half of your "foward" momentum you can do your roll and still have good speed coming out of it.

If I should clarify anything let me know. :)
