National Jams / Boston, MA March 16-17 -Hubbable 2013
« on: October 30, 2012, 10:39:23 AM »
HERE WE GO! Year of the Saiyan!

Join us for the 3rd year running at HUBBABLE, the Largest Parkour Jam in the Universe.

March 16-17, storm to prestigious and royal Boston, MA to join Hub Freerunning and the rest of the known world to ravage the best spots in the best country there is.

This has been a big year for hotspots, as two of the best spots of Day 1 have been completely ripped up and re-designed, with Baby Pool getting a shockingly awesome facelift and Harvard-Kent (Primo) getting set up to be the new balls-to-the-walls spot.

Baby Pool: http://goo.gl/maps/lBPi1
Harvard-Kent:http://goo.gl/maps/LEyLz

After Day 1 is completed, we will all head back to New England Sports Academy to have a massive gym session, competitions of strength and stamina, and of course a place to crash for the crazy low price of $20, or $15 if you pre-register!

NESA: http://www.nesacademy.com/

Day 2 will start out from NESA, as we will all bombard ourselves onto the commuter rail with our destination being the epic, the gargantuan, the most terrifyingly awesome triple-tiered spot of all time, Josiah Quincy, A.K.A, Chinatown. A favorite for all, and plenty of space, this spot has everything.

Massachusetts / Parkour Camp!
« on: May 18, 2011, 12:49:44 PM »
Make the world your playground. Parkour is about using your environment to move swiftly and efficiently, using vaults, precision jumps, flips and wallruns. In Parkour Camp we will learn various skills from the basics of parkour; body movement, balance and basic motor controls to advanced flips and different vault techniques. Students will have a strong base to work off of and those who have been training in the past will have the opportunity to build their skill sets.

Camps will run from June 20th to September 2nd, 2011.

Hours: 1pm to 4pm

1 half day = $50
1 full day = $70
Full week of half days= $200
Full week of full days= $300 for the first week you sign up, and $275 for every full week you do after that.

Early drop off and late pick up is $10 a piece.

Camps are held at New England Sports Academy on our newly built Parkour Course!

Massachusetts / Parkour Class in Westwood!
« on: October 06, 2010, 11:41:09 AM »
I am holding Parkour classes for beginners to advanced at NESA, New England Sports Academy. No matter if it's your first time or your 5 years deep, there will be something for you to learn and experiment with.

Classes are Wednesday and Thursday 7-9:30 PM, with more days being added soon.

The class goes over basic parkour vaults, transitions, different approaches, scenarios and acrobatics.

It is taught by Myself mainly, and Curran Ferrey as a stand-in teacher.

Classes are held in a up-to date gym with all equipment you could want, plus more.

Prices as of October 4th, 2010:

Drop-in (One Session) 2.5 Hours = $30
4 Classes = $100
8 Classes = $150

If you refer a friend, I believe the gym offers a 50% discount on classes. The classes also do not expire, so if you miss them for a month you'll still be able to come in and redeem however many you have left.

If anyone has any specific times they'd like and I see a big enough interest I can try to get one set up for that time. Weekends and Early morning weekdays are what I am looking at right now.

http://www.nesacademy.com/

345 University Avenue, Westwood,
MA 02090

It is accessible via car and commuter rail, off of the University Ave. Stop.

Injuries - Discussion / Re: I feel ruined
« on: August 01, 2010, 05:16:31 PM »
Shit bro...

I think you might have over-stretched the patella tendon or the ACL, until you see a doctor use RICE. The fact you can use it to walk is a good sign, if it was serious you wouldn't be able to. Take some anti-inflammatorys as well.

It always seems worst right when it happens because of the swelling and tenderness, so dont freak out.

Injuries - Discussion / Hyper-Extended Knee
« on: August 01, 2010, 05:13:29 PM »
About a month and a week ago I hyper-extended my knee. I let it rest, compressed it, didnt do parkour or do anything intensive besides rehab it lightly. After 3 weeks I started training again, as it as functional. Ever since its been somewhat tight before I warm up, where I cant get into a squat position. After stretching it usually goes away but will heat up doing alot of precisions/bigger impacts.

I was wondering if anyone knew how long these minor/trailing effects last for? And what are some good stretches/exercises to strengthen those tendons to make sure it doesn't happen again?

Thanks APK!

Parkour And Freerunning / Re: Rain, No Train?
« on: August 01, 2010, 04:47:36 AM »
I never let rain stop my progress. Training in rain makes you more controlled, stronger and a better sense of your own body. I highly recommend it.

Heres a video where part of it was torrentially down pouring but me and my friend kept on keeping on.

http://neparkour.ning.com/events/national-parkour-day-june-5th

So June 5th is National Parkour Day, and I want to start a mega, huge, New England Jam to celebrate!

Now I expect an amazing amount of people at this, so we have to find a spot that will accommodate all of us. My first thought it either the Baby Pool, or Chinatown. When the groups dwindles down we can head to some other nice areas.

This is still in the works, but I plan on meeting around 11:00 AM at either spot, and starting a yamakazi style warm up, followed by some follow the leader and then some group PDQ.

Should be overly fun, bring your friends, cameras, a good will and a bag of ibuprofen!

My number is 781-353-8129, feel free to text anytime, call only if needed.

*WE WILL MEET AT THE BABY POOL IN THE CHARLESTON NAVY YARD.*
