Parkour And Freerunning / Re: Parkour movie?
« on: July 26, 2009, 03:16:38 PM »
It's time for us to make some Parkour movies that show the art in its correct light.   ;D

Definitely. I have been planning the storyline of one that I was gonna make. (I am an adequate filmmaker) It was how originally a criminal started parkour but got arrested but parkour changed his ways once he got out of prison. But I am changing the storyline.

Casino Royale was a life changing experience.. if it wasn't for that movie I would have probably not have been hooked on Parkour

I didn't watch the movie till I was shown and I was already 5 months into parkour again and since I actually knew what was happening I laughed at Daniel Craig's attempts... but I never really saw much of Foucan in a lot of things (I wasn't really learning the philosophy then...) but when I saw that I instantly went and got Jump London and Jump Britain. Sebastien Foucan is my biggest idol.

EDIT: I have looked it up and found out the movie is about a new york cop who goes undercover in the parkour world to track a gang of bank robbers....

I really hope that people don't take this in a different conception and see that Traceurs are actually good people.

Parkour And Freerunning / Parkour movie?
« on: July 26, 2009, 01:17:35 AM »
I heard there was a movie about parkour... but the creators are making Traceurs/Traceuses all criminals. I mean seriously? We already have a bad reputation as it is because people think we are already up to no good. But this takes the cake. I am not pissed. I just wanna know what you guys think about this. I know we aren't criminals and this movie falsely says we are. Little kids are gonna learn about parkour then see the movie and either be turned away from it cause they think it's a bad influence or they are gonna use parkour to be criminals.... will someone please shed some light on this topic. I only know that there is a movie gonna be made and that the story line is about Traceurs/traceuses are contrasted as criminals... I would like to know more about this movie... maybe from what I heard, I was wrong.

Well, Beretta, my goal is to lose 10% of my body fat and put 20 pounds of muscle on by December 20th. Then keep that goal for every 5 months. until I have under 10% body fat left. But I'll lower the lbs of muscle I want every time I complete it. Maybe by 2 pounds. I want to feel and look fit. I also don't wanna weigh 300 pounds cause of muscle gain... :/

Good, that goal is a little better, but I'm confused about what you mean.  Are you saying you'd like to lose 10% of your current bodyfat (i.e. if you have 20lbs bodyfat, lose 2 lbs bodyfat by 12/20), or reduce your BF% by 10% (i.e. go from 20% BF to 10% BF)?

Once you answer some questions, we can start working on training goals that will help you achieve that goal.

Are you more interested in being strong, or looking muscular?  Do you have access to weights?  If you do, where and what kind of weights can you use?  (Are they barbells, or dumbbells, how much total weight do you have?  Do you have, or are you willing to get a gym membership?  Is there a weight room or class at your school?)

take is to PM's guys.  Poor Trevor is probably confused as balls now.

Please, let's help Trevor.  Start another thread or take it to PM/IM if you must continue the conversation.

Reduce my body fat % by 10% and yes I did get a bit confused. Cause it went from some really good advice to me being really confused. But strength has never been an issue with me. I have usually been stronger than a lot of people my age. (14 almost 15) But I do wish to look more muscular I do have access to weights (both barbells and dumbells but that's it and also a bench) I had a gym membership but my dad decided to get home gym equipment I have 400 lbs of weights. There is a weight class and room at my school but if I were to go now I would have to sign up for football. That's the only way I can get access to the class and room. :/ But I decided to ask a few gym teachers about parkour over email and they said that if I wanted to be able to train that during class take power walking. They go all over in that class.

Guys it's ridiculous that a thread about Encyclopedia Dramatica has almost gotten to three pages. It's a satire site, it's not meant to be taken seriously.

Go outside and train. :)

I wish I could go and train right now... but curfew restricts me from that... :/ lol I'll go bright and early tomorrow morning....

I have been doing PK for 2 and a half years now... But I took a huge interval in between each time I actually did PK... I got back into it about 8 months ago. I feel physically fit. If I were to take my shirt off most people wouldn't think that I could be able to do half the things I can do. But I put on a medium size shirt and look bigger and in shape. I have lost 15 pounds doing PK alone. I also have started walking more and more places. I still haven't kicked the habit of my eating ways... so I was just wondering if anyone has any advice they can give me about slimming down. I wanna be able to take off my shirt and have people KNOW I can do this. I need help. My workout hasn't been doing much....

People can't tell you not to do parkour. Well unless of course you are trespassing. But yeah... Girlfriends can be clingy but the sad truth is is that as soon as you let your guard down... they will become bitches. Not all girls but I mean the ones that are clingy.... ugh. *remembers last girlfriend* GOD! Sure it has been 8 months since I dated. But that's because I haven't been worried about girls... just parkour. My last girlfriend told me not to parkour because she thought I would become some criminal. I am not a petty thief anymore... Parkour changed that about me. Don't let girls control your life dude. Cause then you are pretty much throwing your self in a prison if you do....

Guys... I recently learned not to take things like that seriously. Just laugh. I thought it was funny. But I mean seriously? I posted a thread just me venting about ED (encyclopedia dramatica) Sure ED pisses me off sometimes but Traceurs on this forum have told me just to laugh and improve my art not worrying what others think.

REASON 1: That is awesome.
REASON 2: I can't remember where that was... :/ Will someone tell me?

I have been doing this for 2 and a half years though. But I have just recently started understanding the history and passion and philosophy of parkour. The classes, I plan to start them after maybe another half a year of learning the philosophy.

You know you are a Traceur when your doctor doesn't have to ask how you got your current injury.

Parkour And Freerunning / Inspiring new Traceurs/Traceuses
« on: July 23, 2009, 09:17:29 PM »
Well Clinton was at the park earlier tonight and there was this kid he used to hang out with. Back then Clinton only knew the basics. And so he taught him and a bunch of other kids how to do that. It turns out that the kid, has been training since. (Freerunning though) he told Clinton that he was really inspired... This inspired me to never hate on people again for attempting PK/FR. There was this one guy who I used to hate. He got into parkour. I laughed... and came up with a plan to turn him away. But when Clinton told me this story... I thought. Hey I shouldn't be doing that... so I decided to help him... and every other Traceur and Traceuse I can... Also I thought I should offer classes for Parkour to inspire people... and as I get better I will be able to offer them more.
Anyone think I should go through with the classes?
