Minnesota / Re: Question(s) about Gleason classes
« on: October 10, 2009, 12:00:29 PM »
The Monday and Tuesday classes ARE structured, but the Saturday is not structured because of people coming some weeks and not others so Chad can't make a structured plan because he has no idea how many people will show. On Saturday classes you pay for the days you show up but if you register for classes(Monday, Tuesday) you pay for the whole month.

Alright I have been going there for a month now and have to say I learned a lot. We work on flips and stuff, yet still had time to drill the basics. Chad does a great job of getting you up to speed if you are new and if you already know what your doing I think you will get critiqued slightly more then the new guys. :P I would also suggest if you are unsure got to a pay-as-you-go class, I do warn you though its more of mess around type deal but the beginning is slightly more structured. teaching the basic vaults, landings, and rolls. After that Chad just kind of lets us do our own thing within reason (As long as we don't stray to far or get in the parties way) And giving us random suggestions of stuff to practice you don't do in regular structured class. Both are good options. if you don't feel like going into to a structured class or you want to see what A regular can teach you go on Saturday. The structured class you tend to get more reps practicing and will get more help( he has a assistant on Monday and Tuesday.). if you choose to go to either I think you will be happy with you choice, hey its better then practicing on the frozen rails outside isn't it? ( I still am going to :P)

Parkour And Freerunning / Re: PARKOUR VS FREERUNNING
« on: October 09, 2009, 06:13:29 AM »
I agree with Gabe, but can we still use the term freerunning? The reason is freerunning is more of American word then parkour. Freerunning is easy to say/spell for Americans. (Free+running how can you possibly spell that wrong?) whereas parkour is hard to say if you hear it the first time let alone trying to spell it.(wait did he say parkwhore?) So my question is can we use the terms interchangeably?

I heard( never tried) that you just set each of the pictures to overlay. Try that if it doesn't work IDK.

None that I have heard of but I am going to be at gleason's (maple grove) for open gym with some friends if you want to learn.WARNING: I am nowhere near as good as Chad or anyone else for that matter so all I could teach you are the basics.
