Well I found out about Google trends( yes I know I am slow) and decided looking at the life of PK/FR. I noticed a few interesting patterns to look at it.
This is the graph I used:
http://www.google.com/trends?q=parkour%2C+free+running%2C+freerunning+&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all&sort=1.
1. I found it interesting parkour has been searched more then freerunning ( also free running was searched more then freerunning.) I thought feerunning would of been searched more because it is easier to spell then parkour.
2. Notice the huge spike? That was when Jump Britain aired. It caused a huge spike in searches both temporarily and raised the average searches from that point on.
3.Lets look at when Casino Royale was released(around November 2006) I thought this would raise the bar significantly but it only had a small temporary spike and after that it returned to normal. this happened again with Ultimate Parkour Challenge (for now at least).
I just wanted to show you this to make people rethink that UPC and the like will cause a swarm of posers and adrenaline junkies to join. But if we did want alot of people to join we would need a PK/FR documentary in a good time slot or on basic cable. this then could cause another surge of educated newcomers who want to learn for the right reasons not for its extreme looking exterior.
