My name is Andrew Obenreder. You may know me as Syn. I've been training Parkour since 2003, moving my whole life. PROJEKT 8 is the product of this. It is a means for myself to look back on my own life, reflect and remember, to validate and track my progression in movement, art and myself. I only post them here in hopes that you can enjoy my life as I enjoy it. Thank you for watching, much love!

"Live and let live, love, learn, laugh, move and be free. You only have one life, actually live it. One people, one mind, one spirit, one movement, one love."

I'd like to thank everyone who was featured in this video and those who have played a role in my life thus far, you truly are important to me and I love you all.

Special thanks to Piarry Singh, Matt Rogowski, Tara Price, Sha Mualimm-Ak, Max Henry, James Phillips, Mike Araujo, Andrew Juntunen, Caleb Iuliano, Vic Perez, Jordan Beckham, Daniel Leviyev, Steve Lang, Ethan Obenreder, Justin Oakes, Thomas Dolan, Yuriy Paranyuk, Joey Arato, Nathan Stranahan, Codie Rising and Jin Lei for filming.

Join us at Jewarts Gymnastics for a parkour workshop taught by members of professional parkour group, Team Sanjuu, Pittsburgh Parkour Association, WFPF, and the Worldwide Movement Association to kick off the beginning of our new parkour program ran by Andrew 'Syn' Obenreder and Devon Bardole.

The workshop is open to all ages and all abilities. The goal of the workshop is to educate people on the method of parkour and encourage and aid participants in improving their ability to move through the environment. The workshop will be divided into various work station groups focusing on attributes such as proprioception, coordination, dynamism, spatial awareness, fluidity, balance and functional strength as well as confidence and mental fortitude.

The workshop will be followed by a one hour open gym session with optional instruction provided.

We will be offering a FREE outdoor class pass to anyone who brings (1) additional participants, and a FREE private session for those who bring (3) or more participants.

Hey,  I'm in pittsburgh (northside) and am looking for people to train with.  Or at least trying to find some good spots to hit up.

There are amazing spots right on the northside.
I suggest making youtr way up to allegheny center in front of the Children's Museum.

Thanks everyone! And about the faces and such...
I've always been goofy, it's just me...
But I also did spend a good long while training with Oleg, so I picked up on some extra ridiculousness :)
Like the "Eeeeeeee, Gatusso, eeee you know? let me ride you eh?" That was my bit of Oleg coming out. Haha.
But thanks again everyone. Hopefully, I will get to train with you all soon :)

PROJEKT 7
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LA-4YWfymg

My name is Andrew 'Syn" Obenreder. My training in Parkour and journey in movement started November 13, 2003. "PROJEKT 7" is the result of that and marks my 7th year of training.

I'd like to thank my family, friends, and anyone who supported me over the years. Special thanks to Becca Kapral (amazing girlfriend), James Phillips, Justin Oakes, Vinnie Coryell, Max Henry, Dan Lescher, Justin Ganguly, Noah Mittman, Vito Pelino, Cody Bolen, and Daniel Leviyev for helping me with the production. I'd also like to thank the rest of my family, Team Sanjuu, for all your love and support and an extra special thanks to our managers Paradise Gray and David Spittel for everything they have done for us.

CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM IS MORE THAN WELCOME! I did not make this video for anyone but myself. It is to show my progression in movement as well as film making. I only post my "PROJEKTS" because people are interested in watching them and I honestly don't care what others think. If you like it, thank you. If you don't, I'm sorry, you didn't have to watch it :)

Hope to train with everyone soon! Thanks and MUCH LOVE!

Pics & Vids / Re: This made my gut drop
« on: October 27, 2010, 02:14:47 PM »
We made the video private on both Dylan's and the Team Sanjuu youtube (youtube.com/pkfrmedia) for a number of reasons.
It was a personal thing that Dylan only wanted to release to get a message across, we originally NEVER wanted to release it is any way, shape or form, it was generating a lot of negative feedback, and neither Dylan nor myself believed it should be made available to the public any longer. So sorry about that folks.

The MAIN reason for it being taken down though, is if you watch when the camera is pointed to Noah, the camera man, and myself below...I look like an idiot :)

To answer every other question out there...
Dylan was mentally and physically more than capable of doing this the first time. He's done kong to cats much bigger before. He knew this was a risky and stupid thing to begin with, but he was doing it for himself. Even though it was risky, he had to go back and do it again by himself. Simply, Dylan is the kind of person, if he messes up, he can't go on with lingering failure. To him, this was a journey and something that would halt his progression to an extent if he couldn't overcome this barrier alone.

Oklahoma / Re: Ariake vs. Feiyue vs. Matflex
« on: July 14, 2010, 08:40:40 AM »
Firstly, I agree with Chris. Secondly, I think the Ariake is garbage...way too much cushioning, they fall apart, and the grip is okay. Feiyues are great...they're cheap, have great grip, and are extremely comfortable. Matflex are great too. But the new ones....not so much. The originals were discontinued for whatever reason and the V2 are aren't as good. I would also recommend Onitsuka Tigers (which are my favorite), Energies (if you can find them cheap), or a pair of Pumas :)

But what I STRONGLY believe is that...the shoe doesn't matter. I move just as well in a pair of Feiyues, Mattflex, or Ariake, as I do in Adidas Classic, 5.10, Chucks, or barefoot. Don't worry so much about shoes as you do your technique. Good technique fixes the other problems.

Pilou and I are driving up from DC but can only attend Saturday PM (we're visiting friends). Where can we meet you guys - is anybody being contact point on this one?

Sounds great! Give me a call at 4126510665 and I can let you know where we are and whats going on!

Isn't that a bit of distance from pittsburgh?

No. It's like 20 minutes. And you only have to go there if you plan on staying the weekend at the church.
Otherwise...

Hey the gym that we are supposed to be going to friday, the site says that there will not be a friday open gym until september.  So are they making an exception for this jam?  Or are we doing something else?

Nope. Gym :)
I work there

Remember guys...transportation is NECESSARY. If anyone can help drive that would be amazing.
