New website?!  That will be awesome!  What kind of changes will there be?  Or will I just have to wait for it? :(

Ive never actually gone myself, but I think they meet at the far side of the parking lot.  Since it is dark by then I would assume that we will spend more time inside then out, but dont quote me, because I dont know for sure.  I'll be there, and I would like to meet and learn from as many traceurs as I can, so you should come as well.

I wasn't able to make it last week because I had to do something with my dad.  I'll be there for sure this week.

Yeah, I also find that Demon's monthly training is also very good.  I have taken some of those and gotten a lot better at things I have been challenged with.

Sure.  The ones I bought recently are not as good as my last pair.  I don't remember what type they were, but they were just easier to move in.  I'll bring them as well if you want.

I live down south in Fountain and have to pass the wrold arena to go anywhere in town.  I could pick you up on the way up to a training session, as long as I have directions and you don't mind riding in a crappy old Plymouth Voyager, lol.

Oh, and you don't need to worry about being new to parkour.  You just take everything at your own pace and try to learn all you can from everyone else.  Nobody will expect you to do anything beyond your skill or ability.

Colorado Springs traceurs usually meet at Tiffany Square on thursday nights.  I won't be in town that week, but I'm sure there will be a few people here that can train with you.

I live down in Fountain, so about 20-30 min. away from Cottonwood park.  I have been over there a few times and have seen some freerunners that usually do a lot of flips and stuff like that.

I remember I Cat-Vaulted over those walls there and talked with a few of the guys there, and I saw some more when my friend and I were making a stupid movie for fun.

Colorado / Proper Parkour Conditioning

I thought it might be wise for us all to compile our knowledge of what we view as proper parkour conditioning.  I'm sure there are many traceur's, new and experienced, that would like to find new and improved ways to condition themselves.  So what are the best ways to improve our Endurance training, our Flexibility, or anything else that can keep our bodies keen?

I thought of this today as I have been working for a while trying to think up good stretches so that I can become more flexible and increase my overall dexterity.  I thought, if Parkour is the art of Movement, as a traceur, I should be able to move my body in whatever way I need.

Colorado / Re: Colorado Springs Community Dying?

Well . . . it does not seem like things are so dead anymore, lol.  It seems to go in waves, from what I have seen.  People get hyped up and then lose interest and then the cycle continues.  I think as long as we get at least a few regulars, with some who come every once and a while we will be pretty good.

I will try to make it every Thursday from now on, as long as I don't get snowed into my home!

I watched that ESPN segment about Demon going to France.  That was pretty spiffy!

Dang.  I did not make it.  So far I have only done training there alone  :(

I will be heading over there today to do some training with my brother.  He is not really a traceur, but he likes to watch and try things.

By the way, I found an awesome spot downtown that looked to have some potential.  It is outside the Pikes Peak Center.  I went there for a concert and saw it, so I will be heading down there this wednessday.

Oh, about shoes.  I have been very impressed with Saucony Brand.  They are running type shoes I guess, but they are flexible, form well to your feet, and have amazing grip.  I just bought a pair of their Grid Cohesion style and still need to break them in, but they might do nicely.  I like to have shoes that are light, flexible, breathable, have good grip, and protect your feet.

I went there last night by myself just to check it out.  I had never been there before.  The place is pretty awesome though.

Thursdays at 7pm would work for me.  Not this week because that is Thanksgiving day.  I will be up there with a couple of friends on wednessday at around 6:30 though.  If anyone wants to join me, feel free.

Oh, I also know of another couple areas that are pretty nice.  One is a place that me and my friends call "Dream", and that is kind of up in the briargate area.  I'll get pictures and directions soon.  The other is Frontier Elementary School which is in the same area.  I'll get pictures and directions for that too.

Yeah, I found that thread after I posted that, but so far nobody has posted in response to what I posted.  I'm sure they will soon though.

Hey.  This is what I have been looking for.  Do you still meet?  If so, where, when, and any other information.

If you don't have times set yet, I work weekdays from 7-3:30.  Tuesdays, and Sundays are bad for me.

Any chance of meeting this week?

As for a GOG meet up, that would be sweet.  Week day morning are bad for me though.  Saturday mornings would be better for me.

Colorado / Re: Leaving CO...what to do in the midwest?

I feel your pain.  I left Colorado for a couple years and lived in a place called "Ridgecrest, CA"  Heard of it?  Me neither.  It is flat, barren, hot, and it was tough to find areas that were good for training.  I did not meet anyone who practiced parkour there but I did convert a few of my friends and we jammed together.

I learned that no matter the town, if you search hard enough you will find a few areas that are fun to practice.

Glad I'm back in CO though.  There is way more here than in "Ridgecrest"

Colorado / Colorado Springs Parkour
« on: November 17, 2007, 10:32:51 PM »
Hey, I have been practicing parkour for a few years now but have not made an effort to try and reach out to the parkour community here in Colorado Springs.

I see a lot of activity and jams happening up in Denver and in Boulder, and that is awesome . . . though it would be a little more awesome if I lived up there.  So, anyone know of any events or anything going on here in the Springs?  If not, we should plan some.  I'm sure we can all pull our knowledge together of some hot spots.  I know of a few.
