Freerunning / Re: Fear of flips
« on: May 29, 2012, 04:20:35 PM »
1. Watch a lotof youtube tutorials on the flip you want to learn. 2. Go somewhere with something soft to land on like a gymnastics place, or a beach with lots of sand. Another good way to be safe and get over fear is flip into a pool and film it to see how you land. If you cant film it then have a friend watch you. If none of these things are possible then just take all of the pillows, covers, cushions, and whatever else that's soft and throw them out in the yard at flip on that. ;D 3. After you can land them like that then you can take it to something softer like woodchips, just make sure there flat and there's many layers of them. 4. Once you master that you should be able to go to grass. 5. now that you got them on Grass you can move on to a hard patch of dirt. 5. CONCREAT!!!!! For backflips it is a lot easier to have a spotter, it takes out a lot of the fear. Go try one!!!!!!

Over 20 years doing mixed martial arts, now I live in Austria I freeski in the winter and mountain bike in the summer, also enjoy jump stilts, bouldering, skating and drinking.

I've been dieing to try those jumping stilts, but there kinda expensive(around $150-$300), are they worth the money? if i do get them what brand and model should i get.

I'm only watching it for Jesse La Flair, he is one of my favorite freerunners. I was really disappointed that Levi went out on the first obstacle, I was hoping he would get to the last stage. All this got me thinkin, is Jump City ever comin back on?

Movement / Is this possible?
« on: May 26, 2012, 12:43:39 PM »
Me and my friend have been trying to do this for a while but we can't seem to get it. We call it a wall cartwheel, you run up to the Wall and kick of like a trinity flip but you put your hands on the ground like a cartwheel. I've never seen it done before and it would help to see it, so if you have a vid of something like this that would be great. Also if it has a real name please tell me. Every time we try we get up to high in the wall and end up diving at the ground, it pretty funny.

Parkour And Freerunning / Re: Adidas or anyother shoes
« on: May 23, 2012, 04:58:55 PM »
I would recommend getting a minimalist shoe. They are much easier to run properly in(ball of foot hits first). I currently have the new balance minimus trail, and they feel wonderful.
Those are the shoes that i have and they are awesome. they have great grip and a really good barefoot feel to them. Ive had the for about three months and they do take some getting used to if you are not used to being barefoot or minimalist shoes. If you don't mind can you tell me how long you've had them?

General Fitness / warming up.
« on: May 16, 2012, 03:48:55 PM »
I'm not gonna lie, warming up is something that i have neglected in my training and I've been wanting to fix that. So i wanna know what is a good all around warm up and cool down plan for parkour and free running? Should i just do some stretching and jogging, or some intense workout before and after a training session? Any help will be appreciated.

Socialize / Parkour games
« on: May 09, 2012, 06:20:51 PM »
I love incorporating parkour in classic games like follow the leader and tag. I want some more ideas for PK games so please feel free to share your ideas.
PK games i already have:
ctf (capture the flag)
tag
follow the leader
castle ball. castle ball is played with two people at one of those castle shaped parks. One starts with the ball and they have to find the other person and hit them with the ball. once the ball is thrown anyone can pick it up and be the thrower. first one to get hit loses.
so post any game or fun training ideas id love to hear them.

i can do them from a run just fine. I just kinda lock up on the jump with the standing ones its hard to explain. i can do standing backflips too, don't know if that's important.
