Parkour And Freerunning / What are the types of parkour views and what do they mean?

I noticed that there are different views with parkour (Purist, freestyle, ect.). But what do they mean? I will be thankful for whoever tells me.

I just started parkour and I already love it. The only thing I am having trouble with is gripping ledges. I can grip cylinders and pipes easily but when i run walls i have a hard time grasping the edge of it at the top. Any suggestions? I can't buy gripping gloves.
