ok i read your post but not the replys so idk if someone covered this yet but running on the balls of your feet makes your arch act as a spring and makes you go faster for a longer time your heel was made for walking and stabilizing not running but shoes cushion the heel so much people heel strike without thinking and it hurts your body more then you feel so you keep heel striking which makes your walking muscles go over time and your running muscles go overtime (Achilles tendon for example) so when you start running on toes again your muscles will hurt for awhile due to the fact that you havent used them in a while (maybe never depending on when ur parents put u in shoes)
like the matrix when he asks why his eyes are hurting and the guy says because you've never used them before
