@Stephan She told me that any sort of intense stress on the abs is discouraged(So i'm going to avoid l-sits, situps etc) but for example running is fine.  She didn't seem too specific though

The thing is there is a state jam coming up and I want to be in good shape physically and mentally for it. Just got out of wrestling ready to get back into parkour and now this happens, just trying to overcome this obstacle.

General Fitness / Spleen Swollen, Give me training ideas while recovering.
« on: February 19, 2012, 10:36:31 AM »
So I've had mono for 3 weeks and have been pretty much letting my body recover. I've almost had no symptoms and i'm pretty sure my body is pretty much in control of this virus. However one problem with mono is that it makes your spleen swell which can make it fatal to get hit in the abs. Also ab contraction is not really recommended so thats something that should be considered.

My question is what are some good low impact skills/drills I can practice during the next 4 weeks of recovery, already have QM's down at the top of my list.

Thanks!
Arda

yeah but unfortunately no traceurs within running(4 miles) distance from my house, and its hard to invite people over because its time consuming and still trying to win my parents over with the parkour idea, well i guess ill suck it up and let people watch all they want, too bad theres no one near me thats interested

Yeah thats what i was thinking, im getting all my flips down so i can just do a crazy 720 gainer if someone comes up and looks at me strange. But what this topic was more directed to is how out of place will someone training solo look  Also if someone was to come up and ask me, what would be the most un-awkwardish thing to reply with

Parkour And Freerunning / Practicing In Public-Fear
« on: October 12, 2010, 02:14:32 PM »
What are your guy's opinion of practicing in public? Right now when im vaulting over benches or rails and a car comes by i just play it off and start arround till it passes. Just some sort of fear of being recognized by someone maybe even had the security patrol that is assigned to our neighborhood come question me. Any ideas of how to get me over this or is my concern valid?

Thanks again everyone

Im interested in practicing flips at home, for the simple fact i can only practice them on Fridays at a local gym for less than an hour. Anyone have any ideas of what i could use as padding?
