First off, thank you for serving your country.
Secondly, really? Have the guys never used a gym in their life before?
Most of them are from areas that do not have free or gyms they would go to. But there excuse is always I didn't know. But I am over it now 6 days left till I retire :D

Hey I'm Nathan or Nate, I have no affiliation to any organization besides the marines which I am technically retiring from in less then 6 days. I have not really done any free running but I train when able to and condition. I am planning on moving back to grand rapids, MI and then figuring out which college I want to go to for my degree. I was more interested in parkour 2006-2007 but I wouldn't mind trying another go at it. Last jam I went to was at UCLA and I had trouble walking after it but it was fun. So yeah I wouldn't mind training or hanging out.

My rant for the day. The new marines who show up to the gym and not follow the written rules they are shown when they check in. CLEAN your sweat off the equipment! If you don't know how to use it and hurt yourself, Should of asked first. Don't leave you NASTY towel on someone else's water bottle. And ALWAYS use a spotter. We don't like have to come to your aid when you overload the bench press every 5 minutes.

Not skynet; Close but not that kind of evolving consciousness. I would see them as something out of a video game like builder drones they can only complete structures they are programed to build.

Fighting does not all ways mean killing. Fighting could be with words or actions that create a type of conflict.

You only need a 1 1/2 foot steel/titanium crow bar for manhole covers an most boarded up areas it also doubles and a defensive and offensive weapon. How ever I would suggest you stake the place out ;) or google/ask a few questions around the area about it. and bring a buddy and make sure someone knows where you are and how you got in :P so its faster to find you just in case you get lost.

When you go buy a 24 hour gym and the sign says Move Efficient, Move a lot and you think of parkour instead of the weightlifting they are advertising.

The quieter you move the more muscles and less impact on your joints equal overall win. :) Also sneaking up on your boss is pretty nice too.

Parkour And Freerunning / Re: Its gonna be cold. To cold.

And don't forget about frost bite and hypothermia.. Sweating may cool off the body but it can cool it off too much too fast; Then you go into shock or hypothermia. So train safe and train smart. :)

Parkour And Freerunning / Re: Parkour Banned in NYC
« on: August 22, 2010, 01:02:55 AM »
In my line of work we have a saying. "There is all ways one who F##Ks it up for everyone." They are probably only showing negative effects to the people making the laws and ordinances. As far as I know they can only enforce in public areas so private areas that you own or is owned by a private group that allows you to train would be exempt from that law. Unless the law is to ban all styles of gymnastics because when the MPs ask me what I am doing I say I am practicing land based gymnastics.

Also you have the support of all who are stuck in the military and train in parkour/freerunning. :) Which would be everyone because the oak course is something everyone had to do once in there military career.

A person asked me once if I saw the path I walk. I answered him "There's a path?"

It's astounding, time is fleeting.
Madness takes its toll.
But listen closely, not for very much longer.
I've got to keep control.
