ya try practicing it a bit from a kneeling position and work your way up, the roll is one of the most important things to master. also make sure your rolling from shoulder to hip so you can make a quick recovery and end off running.
good luck with your shoulder
Two things. First, use your hands more. Gotta use the hands to transfer the weight onto the back of your shoulder, not the top. Secondly, you gotta rotate more in your roll, so you don't come down on the top of your shoulder, you land farther behind.

Cool, thanks alot!

The using the hands part is what I wasn't doing right, that should help alot.

I was trying to get better at diving over objects into a roll, but I kept f#cking up my shoulder. I have the roll down, but when I dive into a roll I cant seem to get it without slamming my shoulder in the process.

Any tips??

Sick, how's the parkour scene out there?

Oh and props on the fort minor lyrics in your signature.

I seem to have the only clan but my Co-Captain lives in Little Rock and he's slowly got it moving out there. Our clan has about 15 active members and more and more are coming. I think about 9 of us are gonna do a jam down Dickson Street (Busiest street in Fayetteville) and try and get news attention to spread it to the other 80,000 over here who don't know about it.

Thanks man. Fort Minor rules.

Yea, we only have like 5 of us in our group, but we're working on more, i know there's got to be more traceurs in my area.

Detroit is so sick for parkour, i know we cant be the only ones.

I wish I could've met you when I was up there for the auto show. We could've PK'd together.

Wait my bad...it was cold as hell then.

Oh yea, Michigan gets insanely cold.

But it's warm now, and i'm enjoying it.

Chris
Akron, OH
I've been a traceur for about a year now.

P.S I feel like I'm in AA or something ;)  :-Sarcasm

This is AA! lol, we all have an addiction. But I'm not here to fix it, just aid and assist.

Im Jason Putnam from Redford, MI.
I've been doing parkour for about a year now.
I also skateboard, I'm sponsored by detroit city skateboards.
Skateboarding is actually what turned me on to parkour.
and i have about 4 people in my area that i run with, we're working on a name for our group.

« on: May 15, 2008, 08:10:21 PM »
Yea I saw it, i hate how the news puts a bad spin on everything, the kid probably rushed it and did something he wasnt ready for, but i skateboard and free run, and there's so much danger in both but you know this already when you get into it.

Also i hate how the kid like warned teens not to do it.

You cant just say dont do it, people just need to know thier limits.

Sick, i had no idea there was alot of traceurs in my area.

I live in redford, but i was just at the henry ford estate that other day doing some parkour, and i was just at hart plaza today.

I'm a sponsered skateboarder, but i love parkour just as much, so basically wherever i skate i find parkour spots as well.

I'm Jason Putnam from the Detroit area of Michigan. Where's everyone else from? How long have you been into parkour?

I'm new to the site, I've been into parkour for a couple years now, just curious if there's anyone here from my area, and I just wanted to see how big parkour is getting around the U.S.
