Keep doing your thing man! Just remember, tricking is an art rooted in the martial arts. Be sure to practice kicks alongside your tumbling.  8)
Haha of course man. My video was lacking kicks.  :-\ I've just been more focused on tumbling type movements lately because I've never done them before. I've got my basic kicks down though. Hook, tornado, C7, 540, feilong, parafuso, etc. Thanks for the feedback man!  ;D

Basically what Grip and Thomas said. Just fix your J-step setup. Block that jumping leg a little more and take more of a drastic turn for your last step so you can eliminate the traveling you do and turn it all in to height. Also, wait for your kicking leg to lift about a foot higher before you initiate your spin and make sure it's relatively straight. I'm %100 positive you can easily land it if you clean up your tech a bit.

Love this video so much. His Summer of 2009 video is what really inspired me to get in to tricking. He's probably the best all-around tricker out there.

Injuries - Discussion / ACL tear and Meniscus damage

A little over 7 months ago I tore the ACL in my left knee doing a front tuck step out in the gym. For some reason I decided to ignore it and pass it off as just a ligament strain/sprain. So now, 7 months, 2 re-inuries, and a few agitations later, I've decided to get it treated. I've already gotten the MRI results confirming it is in fact an ACL tear as well as some minor Meniscus damage.

The doctor wants to perform surgery on it using a donor ACL and will cut the damaged Meniscus off. I'm scheduled to do it possibly as soon as this Monday. So, is there anything I should do to prepare for this? Any second opinions? Thanks for any input.  :)

Very admirable and a novel experiment, but it's not the greatest idea considering your body needs rest days. You especially need them if you're planning on doing any kind of high intensity strength training, which you should be doing. I know it's off topic but wearing 5 pound ankle weights is a bad idea. Your legs are already taking enough stress as it is, you don't need more weight to bear down on them. Also, your form is different when you're wearing weights and when you're not so it will eventually degrade your form.

Not trying to be a downer here, just giving you a little precautionary advice. I hope all goes well and I can't wait to see how this all goes. Good luck!

Freerunning / Re: transiton dleg > side?

Well, D-leg and sideflips are two completely different movements so it's kind of hard to transition. With the sideflip you use more of a gymnastics style blocking and really pop with your shoulders to gain height as opposed to turning, digging, torquing, and kicking your legs over. Also, your chest/torso will always be facing horizontally instead of barrel-rolling over.

And yeah I've seen Daniel Pitlock do them in his throwback vid at 1:35
