Hey, how was it? I was home for the weekend, my friend's grandpa died. So I was pretty much out of commission. On the upside, I can move my legs again and should be back for more on Sundays (I've never been sore for 10 days in my entire life... and just from jumping for 90 minutes).

I assume we should probably do other stuff outside of the training sessions, because I'm not sure how prepared my body is to start parkour - especially since I've never tried it. APK WOD, I'd think, but any other recommendations? In any case, I'll first show up probably Tuesday, 9/11 since I have team math homework on Sunday. Boo to that.

I can only moderately help you there. I do own trail runners, and I'm fairly sure (based on what I've been reading) that I'll be using them for parkour. But I haven't started yet. So here's what I can tell you...

They're light. Very light.

The soles are thin so you can feel the ground more than with a normal shoe. The treads on mine grip both directions (made by Salomon).

The upper part is mostly mesh, so they're very breezy and nice for hot feet. It did rip at the base of my big toe, but the tear hasn't gotten much bigger in probably 4 months. I wear pretty much one pair of shoes all over and beat the crud out of them.

They quick-tie, with a slide instead of real laces.

So my guess is trail runners would work nicely for parkour, but you tell me. You have the experience.

Heh, right. There's a link to my e-mail in my profile. Mind removing that from the post, since I can't figure out for the life of me if I can edit it?

I'm Taylor (female; sorry for the androgyny) no Pk experience whatsoever and an incoming freshman. Just exploring my options now that I've left rowing, and searching for something to really enjoy.

Hey Mike, if you could add me to the e-mail list that'd be great. Actually, my UM account forwards to GMail, so here: wolfwhelp[at]gmail.com

Name: Taylor
Clan: None
City: Detroit (Ann Arbor in the fall, also freshman)
Friends: Never heard of parkour.
Experience: None

I'm a rowing refugee, and a female. So this is something new to try. Chances are I'll be terrible to begin with, since I've never tried parkour, but Ryan, I'm happy to train with you and we can improve together. Good to know I'm not the only one.
