July 29, 2014

Had to work today, plus a tiny bit sore from yesterday's workout.  Today was mainly just balance. Didn't really have that much time to practice after completing today's AthleanX workout and then having to work today.

Meal Plan
-Breakfast: Oatmeal, Egg whites, and skim milk.
-Snack 1:  1/2 of a peanut butter sandwich.
-Lunch: Homemade Spaghetti with celery.
-Snack 2: The other half of that peanut butter sandwich.
-Dinner: The last of the homemade spaghetti with some celery. 
-Snack 3: Greek yogurt with almonds and cinnamon.
-Supplements: Multivitamin and fish-oil pills.

Parkour
-warm up: 5 minute jog with bilateral stretching.
-Training: Balance drills.
  *10 minutes total of two-feet-on-the-ball-of-foot balances.
  *10 minutes total of one-foot-on-the-ball-of-foot balances for each leg.
  *10 minutes total of walking across a unstable wooden plank.
-Cooldown: Isolateral stretching.

Martial Arts
-No Practice

Misc.
-Barefoot training: 1 mile walk through gravel.

July 28, 2014

First day of parkour training. Going to take it slow, but not jumping off any rooftops anytime soon. I am currently in the middle of the  AthleanX program and it seams to be working well; however, it wouldn't be fair of the company if I spilled any of the workout material.

Meal Plan
-Breakfast: Oatmeal, Eggwhites, and skim-milk.
-Snack 1: Protein Shake mixed with skim-milk.
-Lunch: Homemade protien pasta with homemade protien sauce and celery.
-Snack 2: Go Lean Protien Cerial with skim-milk.
-Dinner: Same as Lunch.
-Snack 3: Banana with skim-milk.
 
Parkour
-Warmup: 5 minute jog with bilateral stretch cycle.
-Training:
   *Started with Quadrupedal movement, 10 set of 20 steps with slow speed just to get use to it.
   *100 Parkour Rolls
   *Stationary Safety tap jumps for 50 reps total.
   *50 precision jumps of about 4 feet.
   *Safety vault 20 times per side.


Martial Arts
-Training:
   *Shadowboxing Practice: 30 Minutes
   *10 techniques, 100 times each.
-Cool down: 5 minute jog with isolateral stretching cycle.

Misc.
-Barefoot training: 1 mile walk in gravel.
-Archery: 100 shots
-And longboarding for Balance.

Haha well, I snowboarded 4 times and then broke my femur doing it this last December. It wasn't really my passion (I live in OK where you have to drive 4 1/2 hours to get to a tiny place north of KC and I only went to do something with my brother). Probably won't have the desire to get on that wooden board again  ;D

But LONGBOARDING... That's a different story. I've been longboarding for about 2 1/2 years and will probably never quit. I'm starting to hit some hills again now that my leg is about 80% recovered and it's an awesome feeling. Have never gotten into sliding, though I have the gloves and have attempted a few times. I'll probably start trying to master that at some point in the near future.

I've skated some but never really gotten that great. I just like hanging at the skatepark lol. I'm the sponsor for Skate Club at the high school I teach at though, so once the school year starts up again I'll probably put more time into it.

Awesome thread, man!

Sponsor of the Skate Club? Sweet. But take the recovery nice and easy, don't want to make it so you can't board anymore.

What set up do you have? I am rocking a Loaded Tan Tien (Flex 2) with Parias V2 180 trucks and metro muse 80a 70mm wheels.

One of my favorite things to do, besides parkour, is finding myself on a wooden board cruising down a hill. I have been snowboarding for 3 years now; however, a week ago I purchased a longboard and have been keeping myself busy trying to master this new hobby of mine. So I decided to make a thread, one that encompasses all types of boarding: snowboarding, longboarding, skateboarding, surfing.

Sometimes the fastest way to get from point A to point B is not on your feet.

Dying light actually looks pretty interesting.  I'll probably get it when i start my investment on a ps4, which will probably be when more games come out for it and the prices are lowered.

Welcome to my Training Journal. I will try to update this log daily to keep track of my progress, but if there is any readers, feel free to share your opinions about my progress and give tips to improve.

Will this be the record of a legendary tracer? Only time will tell.

Goals:
-Increase in strength, but be able to easily manipulate my body weight with ease.
-Master parkour basics by the end of the year (I.E. landing + rolling, vaults, precision).
-Greatly improve balance, agility, speed, and endurance.
-Increase pain tolerance and toughness.

Hey! The name is Gideon and it is nice to meet everyone. I am not exactly new, but I'm starting a fresh slate. I can't exactly remember when the first time I was introduced to parkour, but I feel that now is the time to take action. I live in New Concord, Ohio (soon to be Columbus) and I will attend Miami University next month.

Well hello there!!

My name, as you can see, is Gideon Rainey and i am 18 years old. Currently, I live in New Concord, Ohio but i'll be enrolling in Liberty University in Virginia this Fall. Hobbies of mine include snowboarding, martial arts, and archery.

I only have recently started training myself and thought that this sight may help me improve. Plus i like meeting new people like you guys.
