Hahaha, I like jordan's rendition.

Does the 9 ft part mean that you couldn't climb up the wall because you were in too much pain? o_o

Kinda sucks doe. Needa work on them rolls at all times, gotta be prepared ;D

No I climbed up it...barely!  8)

But that wasn't a roll...I was trying to do a simple vault  :-\ I clipped my leg accidently on the railing and fell on my face.  :'(

Parkour / What is better for landing from a tall wall?
« on: April 05, 2012, 02:36:55 PM »
Hello  ;D

So I've been practicing a bit and have gotten to the point where I can do 8 ft walls relatively easy (Kinda). I wanted to know what is the best technique for getting off the wall if the floor is concrete. I would do a roll but I usually do that only on nice grass. The technique I currently do (I forgot the name) but its when you climb down it, hang on the wall, and kick off.

Thanks!

Hello  ;D

I wanted to know if using the Nike Free Run + is a good pair for parkour. I own an old pair right now and use them mainly to climb walls and jump things (They deteriorate quickly but thats not an issue since I can just buy more). Easily, I can scale 8 ft walls but the bottom of the shoe is killing me :(

Are there any other shoes that are better than the Free Run +? (I'm talking for the first version of course; not the +2)

I searched around and couldn't find a CLEAR answer on whether these shoes are "ok" for parkour. I have used them before in running (They are supposed to be a running shoe) and the worst that has happened to me was shin splits.

Parkour / Help with steps
« on: March 30, 2012, 02:03:48 PM »
Hello  ;D

I'm not sure if its because I don't practice Parkour enough but whenever I try to run up walls, ledges, or even fences sometimes (3/10 times) my stepping is off.

EX: I'm going to run up a 6 foot wall and 3-4 feets before I'm about to climb that thing my stepping is somehow off and I mess up and I can't climb it. Either I come up to the wall to close with my dominant foot to step off and have no room or I come up to short and I can't even jump the wall anymore.

Do I sprint to that wall/fence and hope my footing is good (I jump off my right foot) or is there a technique that allows you to pick which foot you want to step off of the right foot?  ???

Thank you!

Hello  ;D

I am not new to parkour but I'm still a beginner in it because I don't get to practice much and my focus is more on BD'ing. I have an older account on this forum but why not make a new one  8)

Right now I'm just looking to improve my agility and skill in parkour.
