Reposting in National because people from well out of state come to this convention.

P.S Sorry it took me so long to post, I'll be sure to bring extra water for everyone. My bad guys! ^^;

It's that time of year again, the anime convention known as Otakon is only a few weeks away and you know that means, another Otaku Parkour Jam!

Last years Otaku Jam was a HUGE success with a good number of people showing up (around at least 30), along with a few interested people just joining in and tagging along. Here we go again for the 5th year in a row!

To name a few of the great spots we jammed at: The Skywalk network and the buildings surrounding them,  the planters in front of the Sheraton, Propeller antics in front of the Baltimore Aquarium all along with a SWEET fountain that reminds one of the infamous Skyline park in Denver, CO.

Otakon this year is being held once again at he good ol' Baltimore Convention Center on July 27th through 29st.

I figure we'll meet at the same time, same place as last year: Saturday July 28st at 11am Under the Skywalk(for shade purposes!), next to the steps leading up to it at the edge of the Convention Center. Only one end of the convention center has a skywalk connected to it so it shouldn't be too hard to find(the other side is just a bridge connecting to the new Hilton). Here is my phone number if anyone has any questions, or needs help finding us if they're late or lost: 443-851-5936

P.S. All are welcome to attend, being an anime/video game nerd like us is not a requirement. See you all there guys!

I know that people from all over the country come to Baltimore, Maryland for Otakon because it is currently the second largest con in the country for Anime with closing on 30,000 paid attendees. Therefore I decided that I should probably post this in the National section as well as the Mid-Atlantic.

Maryland / AACC Jam TBA
« on: January 27, 2010, 01:31:29 PM »
Used to be a good number of us that went to Anne Arundel Community College to train and jam and I'd love to see it get going again. Just trying to get some interest going again. I was thinking of doing a jam or starting up something weekly maybe next weekend?

Let me know what day/time works for you on a weekly basis. Or what day during the weekend would be best for a jam. I'll post it up based on response and what works best.

Injuries - Discussion / Pain in Achilles Tendon
« on: December 06, 2008, 01:13:57 PM »
I did a search and didn't see anything specific so here goes.

For a few weeks now I have had a pretty dull pain in the achilles tendon of my right foot(dominant). I'm not sure what caused it, I train safely and effectively and almost never in excess. I have been doing ALOT of QM training lately but outside of that I'm not sure.

Well anyway its really bad in the mornings for about an hour or two after waking up, it just hurts and I almost cannot put any pressure on it, which almost makes me limp. A slight burning sensation also accompaines the pain sometimes. Then it eventually goes away and I go about my day, I can sense a tenseness in it during the day, but no pain to speak of.

Not sure whats going on, I've taken off PK for about a week now with no real improvement. I think I might need to see a doctor, but don't want to if it can be cured with some rest, ice, and stretching.

Any advice?

P.S. No real priors on my ankles, I've twisted them a few times over the years but outside of that no major injuries or any other consistant pains such as this one.

Consumer Whores / APK Parkour Capri's
« on: July 15, 2008, 10:55:28 PM »
So just saw the news thread about the new pants.

They look good and the description is encouraging but I was wondering if anybody that has tested them could give their honest opinion on what they thought of them (or anybody else that owns them for that matter).

I feel like they look a little tight on the knee but its hard to tell from just the picture.

Mid-Atlantic / Great Falls Jam!
« on: June 03, 2008, 12:04:32 PM »
So one of the great things I took from Beast Coast this year was learning about Great Falls National park, and thought it would be great to have a jam/cookout there again sometime, think another beast coast day one(kudos to skipper for the great planning and good location choice!).

Just seeing who else would be interested in jamming there, this time we could walk across the pedestrian bridge and explore the other side of the falls as well.

I was thinking about first or second weekend in July and would probably be from around 10ish till late afternoon (around 6 or 7 to help avoid rush hour traffic in DC for those that have to drive through it).

Who else is interested?

Socialize / Anime
« on: February 22, 2008, 12:42:34 PM »
So this will be the 3rd time I've tried to make an anime thread. I noticed some interest in another thread so I decided to revive the topic.

Hopefully it fairs better this time.

Talk about anime, nothing is safe and any subject that pertains to anime is fair game.

I'll start by saying Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is on of the best anime ever created, its from the people (GAINAX) that brought us Evangelion, FLCL, Gunbuster, and many others.

Its currently out on bittorrent and about to start releasing in the US next month. If you have not seen this anime yet, drop what you are doing and watch it. . . NOW!

Mid-Atlantic / Kuro's Bi-Weekly Gym Jams.
« on: January 28, 2008, 06:19:59 PM »
So I'm quitting my weekend job so i have more time. And what better to do with that time than to have a jam!

I'd like to propose a regular gym jam schedule. This isn't to say you guys can't make more on other weeks, just that a regular schedule would help so that people just absolutely know when a jam will be, and won't get surprised by last minute posts. Then they can just show up and know that others will be there to train with them(or at least me lol)  :)

I'd like to start this Friday, 8-9:30pm at Xtreme Acro. And Subsequently every other Friday after that, which would make the jams on:

Feb.-1st (this friday)
Feb.-15th
Feb.-29th
March-14
March-28
April-11
April-25
May-9
May-23
June-6
June-20

If anybody could use a ride in the Glen Burnie/Pasadena/Severna Park area, or if you're between there and rockville, I'd be glad to help. My number is 443-851-5936
