American Parkour

This is about Parkour...kind of, but mostly my friend. He's a 31yo guy who loves Parkour as much as the next, but there's one problem...I cant tell if he's just uber into PK, or more obsessed than anything. We had a slight falling out a few weeks ago because he was being a dick about me not wanting to go out and train cause I wanted to clean my apartment. He also holds things over me because PK isn't my passion. Don't get me wrong, I love PK, it just isn't practical to try and make a living off it. I'm not sure how I should handle him cause I like the guy, he's just being a douche.

So I figured I'd make this thread simply cause we all need a place to drop a rant or two every now and then. While I am not a mod or anyone important, lets try and keep this civil and away from touchy subjects (i.e. politics, religion, ect...)

Time of injury - roughly 4:30PM

Hours of training per week. 6ish (this week)
Location where injury occurred - back
Conditions of location -light out, slightly damn
What you were doing / trying to do when injury occurred? - precision from square pillar to another, slipped, and fell roughly 3ft, back first, onto 2 stairs
Where any other people involved? - a buddy of mine was there
Part of body  - it's nothing more than a scratch on my skin but my spine is hurting
Did you see a doctor for diagnosis? -debating
Did you get X-rays or MRI's? - debating
Picture of the injury - no
Could you / how could you have avoided the injury? I could hae stuck the landing better
Notes on the experience? - Test the surface of something before jumping onto it, especally if it's a little wet out

Normally I would just pop some pain killers, but since it's my spine that's took the blow, I'm wondering if I should go get it look at, just incase anything happend

As the subject reads, I'ma be visiting Philly this Summer to see some family. I wont be able to resist training in my hometown, so I was looking to see if I could get a few addresses of some awesoem places, ya know, to avoide wondering around wasting time. Thanks!

I was doing a Lazy Vault over this wall with about a 6ft drop on the other side
I was the only one there at the time
Right Shin. With the fall it was about a 7 on the pain scale
I did not see a Dr., no
No X-rays or MRI's

Notes: I've had splints in the past, but have worked to keep them from spiking up. This day though, with the cold, I didn't warm up as much as I should have I suppose and when I landed from that drop, BAM! it hit and I couldn't move that leg for a few seconds.

For my english class I'm supposed to write a 4-6 page argumentive essay. I want to write it on Parkour, but I'm not totally sure what angel I want to hit it at. I would love any help from anyone. (My side is why someone SHOULD practice Parkour) Thanks...
