Socialize / Dedication vs. Obsession
« on: June 28, 2011, 06:05:33 PM »
This is about Parkour...kind of, but mostly my friend. He's a 31yo guy who loves Parkour as much as the next, but there's one problem...I cant tell if he's just uber into PK, or more obsessed than anything. We had a slight falling out a few weeks ago because he was being a dick about me not wanting to go out and train cause I wanted to clean my apartment. He also holds things over me because PK isn't my passion. Don't get me wrong, I love PK, it just isn't practical to try and make a living off it. I'm not sure how I should handle him cause I like the guy, he's just being a douche.

Parkour And Freerunning / What animal(s) inspire your movement?
« on: April 07, 2011, 10:15:49 PM »
So the other night my fiance and I got into this discussion about move in Parkour and where I pull inspiration from the animal kingdom. While she does not practice, she said I look more like a member of the cat family, but I don't feel that way. I like to believe I pull my mental input, as well as some of my physical movement, from dogs or wolfs. Some of the things I do are fluid as if it were a cat, but most of the time when I'm doing my runs I feel as if my moves have more of an explosion behind them.

What animal do you feel you best relate to while doing Parkour?

Socialize / Inspirational Quotes
« on: February 23, 2011, 02:33:34 PM »
What are your favorite quotes and why? This can be Parkour related or not, it doesen't really matter

"The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing."
       - Albert Einstein

"It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything."
       - Tyler Durden

I like both of these because they, for me, make me think about my life in a bigger way, I only have this one, I should make something of it

Socialize / Ranting, we all do it...
« on: February 10, 2011, 01:42:27 PM »
So I figured I'd make this thread simply cause we all need a place to drop a rant or two every now and then. While I am not a mod or anyone important, lets try and keep this civil and away from touchy subjects (i.e. politics, religion, ect...)

Dec 16, 2010
Oct 30, 1990 (20yrs old)
Corey Lavelle
Bowling Green, KY
About 6 months
Roughly 8-10hrs
In the past I did Tae Kwon Do, not as of late though
Dry, day light, cold
I was doing a Lazy Vault over this wall with about a 6ft drop on the other side
I was the only one there at the time
Right Shin. With the fall it was about a 7 on the pain scale
I did not see a Dr., no
No X-rays or MRI's

Notes: I've had splints in the past, but have worked to keep them from spiking up. This day though, with the cold, I didn't warm up as much as I should have I suppose and when I landed from that drop, BAM! it hit and I couldn't move that leg for a few seconds.
