Watching that knosti video made me realize that "oh but it's cold" is no excuse to stay in and forget about pk. personally i've been totally out of the game, i stopped biking and working out, so in general this will be a refresher for me. i plan on starting out with basic conditioning before moving on to drilling movment and strength. anyways if anyone is down to join me they're more than welcome. as usual the more the merrier. it's supposed to snow on friday, hopefully that won't put too much of a damper on things.

don't let the cold scare ya!

Training Calendar / PK Training Sat 9/4/2010 12pm?
« on: August 31, 2010, 06:41:09 AM »
I'm gonna do this a little differently this time. Anyone interested in some training this saturday? I've been pretty lazy as of late and the whole ride the drive thing kinda got me motivated to get back on it and work on my movement again. I'd really REALLY like to meet up and train with some people this weekend.

Anywho, I'm not sure about a place yet. I'd like to see who is down and where would be good for all of us. I'm not picky my self. So let's do this.

Socialize / What else do you guys do?
« on: June 24, 2010, 06:57:07 AM »
Let's face it, PKFR is one facet of our terribly interesting lives. There's more to us than that right? Now I'm not asking you to give me your life story, just some other hobbies/activities you enjoy besides recklessly jumping on EVERYTHING! (that's what my old man calls pk lol)

I'll start; I LOVE bouldering (which really kinda falls under PK) I've been getting into long boarding, MC at local DJ shows, and I'm an avid bicycle rider! Primarily road bikes, I've got a mountain bike I flatland with (bike pk, really) and a fixie I use as my daily commuter. Oh and I love thrifting!

Training Calendar / 5/14 Philosopher Stones 1:00pm

I'm going to be there, jumping around. As always, fellow traceurs are encouraged to show. As an added bonus a friend of mine, a journalism major at the UW, we be there. He's writing an informative article on pk in madison.

Basically he just wants to get a few words from local practitioners. I quote: "I picture meeting up with you and get a vibe for the whole 'thing.' Then I'd pull out my voice recorder and if you guys just kinda 'wax poetic' about parkour I think I'll be set."

It'd be wicked if you could show Muse but I understand you're actually a productive member of society and may be busy. ;D

Apology about the short notice.

Training Calendar / Sunday 4/25 Philosopher's Stones (1:00pm)

Recently injured myself. Just back on feet. Want have big jam, everybody come.

That pretty much says it. I want to start off at the capital steps and eventually work my way to steenbock. Anyone who wants to come along is welcome, if not encouraged to show. Originally I was going to have a jam on my birthday but injured myself a few days before it and kinda messed up the whole plan. So I want to have a raincheck session on sunday, ironic considering the weather but I figure people aren't busy on a sunday.

Anyways, see ya there.

MadParkour / vote for POTW
« on: December 13, 2009, 07:33:33 PM »
So after bugging the crap out of the tech staff here, I finally have all login stuff worked out with the apk photogallery! Check it out here! I've started to upload some of the ride the drive pictures. But there are a lot, like 1200... So it's going to take a while.

Anyways check the pics out, and please vote for my pic in the potw. Honestly it's a really well composed shot.

Keep training!

MadParkour / *sniff sniff* Do I smell some FUNDRAISER?!
« on: November 13, 2009, 08:41:39 PM »
Gentlmen, I trust all of you have looked into this APK JAMS system. No doubt you all agree it's going to revolutionize the way we set up training. Surely you nodded your head when you saw that only a one time fee of $25 is needed per community, then all it's members can sign up for free!

If you're like me you got so excited you bursted out the front door and found the nearest thing you could climb!

So this is a simple suggestion really. If we should consider setting up a kind of fundraiser with this purpose. I suppose based on it's success we could share our process with apk and suggest it to other communities as well.

How to go about this however requires more than just my brainpower.

Thoughts?

Training Calendar / Taste of Madison Saturday 9/5/09! 5/6pm?
« on: September 03, 2009, 03:29:08 PM »
Let's do it! We meet downtown somewhere and pk around during the taste of madison. It'll be a lot of fun! I'd vote for the Philosophers Stones as our rendezvous point but I imagine people will be eating there eh?

I know Mynkx will be there cause he can't say no to pk. Anyone else?

MadParkour / G.E.F. 3
« on: August 13, 2009, 02:31:26 PM »
I thought I should mention me and a few guys were at gef 3 earlier today and we were (very rudly) asked to leave. Quote; "The capitol police will be here in 5 minutes, we've had complaints in the past about people jumping around."

Any thoughts? I fear our time spent at gef 3 is "borrowed".

Well my foot is healed and I'm really eager to get back on it. A friend and I are going to G.E.F 3 to just kinda do a shakedown. Anyone's welcome to swing by. It's pretty impromptu so don't feel pressured to show up.

See ya.
