Hello Idaho APK forums, you may not be very active, but that doesn't mean I forget you all :)

Just wanted to stop by and announce a Parkour Fundamentals Class that will be held THIS SATURDAY in Boise! The class will cover basic movement and conditioning techniques and will be $10 per student.

My friend has been training for many years now and comes to us from teaching at Parkour Horizons in Ohio!  He wants to gauge interest in an outdoor parkour class and see what people are most interested in learning.

The class will go from 11:00am-1:30pm this Saturday (3/17/12) meeting at the Anne Frank Memorial in Boise.  Again, cost is $10 per student.

If you have any questions reply to this post and I'll do my best to check back :)

Idaho / Parkour gym opening in Boise?
« on: October 24, 2011, 09:23:19 AM »
Not yet, but some of us are trying to make it happen!

We are looking to get a number of people who would plan on attending this parkour gym if it were to open.  We are really looking to grow the parkour community in Idaho.  We want this gym to be open to current traceurs and people who are interested in the movement.

So my questions for you all, would you attend regularly if it was available?  Would you attend occasionally (some can't commit or are not always in the valley)?  Or are you not interested in a gym at all?

If you are on Facebook you can reply to the poll posted on NoBo's page here:

I thought we should have a place where we can post Parkour sessions/events.  This way all you have to do is scroll to the bottom to see the newest event instead of searching through multiple topics/posts.

Template for event postings:

Date: <DATE>
Time: <TIME>
Location: <LOCATION>
Contact: <Organizer's name/best form of contact>

And then people can RSVP. Or you can create a Facebook event and then link it to here.

Any suggestions on making this better let me know :)

In the Media / Boise, Idaho Parkour Needs Your Help!

Hi my name is Chris, I am a sophomore at Boise State University in Boise, Idaho and I have been practicing Parkour for a couple years now.

Now to the real reason for this message.  The Parkour community here in Boise (and Idaho for that matter) is very new and very small.  Which is why it was even better that myself and another traceur were featured in the BSU newspaper yesterday! We were able to do a short interview for the paper, as well as a nice video for the newspaper's website.  We see this as a really way to hopefully spark some interest in people here in valley.

Now I have a small request to make.  The few dedicated traceurs we have here are committed to getting Idaho Parkour up and going, but we lack the numbers.  So I ask, would you mind taking a few minutes of your time to read the article and watch the video?  The more attention it gets hopefully the better chance we have to grow.  I have provided the links below and I hope this is the right place to post (It's my first time stepping out of my region forum)

I welcome any comments, tips, or suggestions!  Anything that will make the Parkour community here in Idaho better :)

Idaho / Boise State University Parkour!
« on: October 04, 2010, 07:48:35 AM »
I was recently interviewed for the BSU school paper The Arbiter.  And because I'm posting on here I think you can guess what it was about, Parkour :)  It was an awesome experience and I'm sure it will help grow our community here in the valley!  Myself and another traceur were given a chance to share what it is we love about Parkour, our history with it, and how to get others started.  This was originally going to be a small article located somewhere in the paper, but to mine and others surprise it made front page!  They also filmed a short video of us talking about Parkour and showing some basic moves.  Below are the links to the article and video

I'm really hoping this article and video will spark some interest in students at BSU.  This is just one more step to the revival of Idaho Parkour.  What do you think?

Idaho / District 13
« on: October 02, 2010, 07:48:53 AM »
So I just watched District 13 and District 13: Ultimatum....all I can say is wow.  Completely blown away!  If you don't know, District 13 is a French action movie staring David Belle and Cyril Raffaelli.  That should pretty much say everything :) Now it may not have the best storyline, but it does have the best Parkour.  So many amazing moves and stunts!  If you get a chance to watch it, do!  It is a must see for traceurs.

Idaho / Forum Moderators
« on: September 09, 2010, 05:12:36 PM »
So I'm looking through the forum and noticed that we have moderators for the Idaho section.  However I see a problem, we only have one moderator and he hasn't logged in since 2008, and has only posted one thing in his entire time here...

Anyone know how we can get this change? I know I would like to see the moderator be someone who is a lot more active on here.

Idaho / Parkour at Meridian High
« on: April 21, 2010, 08:55:13 AM »
Hello to the few people that actually check this site! haha. Any way just wanted to let you all know that me and some other people will be at Meridian High School this Saturday from 3pm to about 5 or 6 pm.  We will probably plan on meeting near the front of the school.

We welcome anyone who wants to come and train with us! We need to grow the Parkour community here in Meridian/Boise and a good way to do that is to train together :)

Idaho / Parkour in Meridian Tomorrow
« on: April 09, 2010, 05:42:41 PM »
Hey just wanted to let you all know that me and a few other friends are going to be meeting for some Parkour tomorrow.  We are meeting at Settler's Park in Meridian at 6 pm.

Location of Settler's Park:
3245 N. Meridian Road Meridian, ID 83642

Keep in mind that since it's a public park there may be kids around so being cautious is key when training there.

Post on here if your going to join us, or just show up and we will try and find ya :)

BTW my name is Chris and I'll probably be wearing my blue Parkour shirt.  We will be training on the rocks and the playground

Idaho / Parkour this Saturday
« on: February 11, 2010, 09:43:58 AM »
Hey everybody, sorry I haven't posted on here in a while.  Any way me and a couple friends are going to be training this Saturday and wanted to see if anyone else wanted to join.  If the weather still looks good we are going to be training at Settler's Park in Meridian on Saturday from 2pm to about 5pm.

If plans change I'll make sure to post on here before Saturday.

I hope to see some of you there! It would be nice to meet up with other local people since Parkour here in Idaho is pretty small.

If you have any questions you can reply to this post or send me a PM for more details
