MN Jams / The U has decided not to allow parkour training on campus
« on: May 09, 2009, 05:47:40 PM »
So the U has decided not to allow the University Parkour and Free Running Enthusiasts to train on campus. I have attached the .pdf they have attached in their email to us. The group is currently deciding our next move and will notify the community as soon as we have an idea of what to do next.

Sincerely Tyler :'(

Parkour / Vertical Wall Runs To Standing
« on: September 10, 2008, 07:44:45 PM »
I am not sure the exact name of the move, but it is a vertical wall run that ends with you standing on the obstacle, all of this is done without using you hands. It is a pretty simple technique that i have been using for low walls ( 2 - 3 feet or so ) But today me and some friends attempted this on a 6 foot wall and 3 out of the 4 of us were able to do it on the first try and after a couple times we were all doing it. I personally never thought that i would be able to do it, but you know when you are with people how you do stuff you never thought you could. Well i am amazed that we could do this, especially since as far as i know none of us have been running for more than 2-3 years.

I was wondering what type of hight people here have been able to get and what kind of hight do you think is possible? I mean i don't think that i am that good, but i never see this type of move done like this in any videos.

As an aside if anyone does have a good video of this please post a link here.

MN Jams / Everyone in Minnesota United

Check out this Website http://parkour.meetup.com/97/

I would like to urge everyone on this forum to check this website out and see what you think. We have been coming together as a group a lot recently and feel we are at the tipping point of becoming some thing big. Not in terms of skill or anything but in terms of people and ideas. I want every one to check out the meetup system and see what they think, it is a very nice system for meeting up with people close to you.

This website and forum is great and i want to use both, and if everyone starts using both and worst more people will be informed about more meets and Jams. Also the connections we make could revolutionize Parkour and Free-Running in Minnesota.

So what it all comes down to is this. Both meetup and APK are going to be utilized for getting together and running. We can deny one website based simply on simplicity's sake but i think that would miss out on some really good stuff that that can be done with both websites. In the least i will be checking and posting to both websites. Also i am an organizer on meetup which means i am one of the only people that can make meetups. This with out a doubt is this biggest problem with meetup, but i promise to stay dedicated to helping people set up meets.
