I know there are people out there who would like to build a vault box they can use in their backyard, gym, or wherever.  Here is the design to the vault boxes we made at Fight or Flight Academy.

If you have any questions, feel free to post them up.

National Jams / Monstrous Minnesota 2010 - Minneapolis - Aug 20-22nd
« on: July 29, 2010, 07:37:37 AM »
Well this news has been passed through a few other sources but and we thought it was posted here too but I can't find it SO!

August 20-22nd MNPK will be hosting our first annual jam!  Last year we hosted our very first jam with the Midwest Jam and it was quite a success.  So to continue with that, come one come all!

General Schedule
Friday 20th,
Out of towners, call me (Mitch) at 6I2-7O9-785O for a place to stay when you get into the area.  If you see this post, give us a heads up of where you're coming from, how many people you're bringing, and if you need lodging.

Saturday 21st
Main Jam
Start at the U of M for some general tom-foolerly and good times.
Possibly move to another area later in the day.

Sunday 22nd
Go home if you need to...But you'll be missed!
Play around downtown Minneapolis or St. Paul

So that's pretty much it.  A nice laid back jam where you'll get to explore new spots in a new town.  Sounds like a good time to me!

MN Jams / Oldfatman's cry for help
« on: October 05, 2009, 05:42:17 AM »
If any of you older gents remember Oldfatman, I just got an email from him asking for a little help

Hey,  its oldfatman from APK last year.

I am working on a humanitarian relief project for Burma.  We are getting
counter-culture folks to do short public service announcement vidoes and
then putting them up on

Do you know any well known and respected traceurs who would be
interested in  doing a short public service announcement regarding our

Anyone interested in this or know someone who may be, let me know and I'll pass on the message.  Though, I don't know why he didn't just post this himself....

MN Jams / MNPK Logo
« on: May 24, 2009, 06:05:03 AM »
Ok boys and girls, we need to get a logo rather quickly.  If you remember, Larry Gleason agreed (well it was actually his idea) to buy us t shirts that we could hand out at the jam.  Now with the jam quickly approaching, we need to get a design to him soon so there is enough time to get them printed out.  So we have some logos from before we could use but if any of you can make some more, that'd be sweet!

I'll go thru the other threads and try to pull out all the logos.

MN Jams / Voting on MNPK name
« on: May 02, 2009, 08:15:29 AM »
Ok fellas, it's been a week, now it's time ti start voting.  I would say for the sake of it, MNPK and Minnesota Parkour will always be umbrella terms for, well, Minnesota parkour, so I personally would vote for a different name for fun.  But if you like those the best, vote for em!

Here's the list, I think there are some good ones in there.   Vote your favorite 1. 2. 3.

-Parkour du Nord
-L'Etoile du Parkour
-Ice Age
-Warped Gravity
-Urban Surge
-Frost Chasers
-Feral Parkour
-Twisted Blizzard
-Ice Titans
-MN Momentum
-Minnesota Parkour
-10K Lakes PK
-defying gravity
-Twin veloCITIES

Voting will end on May 9th at whatever time I get on the computer

MN Jams / MNPK Name
« on: April 25, 2009, 04:00:33 PM »
Ok boys and girls, it's time to pick a name so we can get some ideas flowing for a logo/glyph.

I've briefly looked through the other post and pulled out all the names in there.  If I missed any, don't worry, you'll get your chance.  I plan on leaving this topic open for a week to let everyone get their opinions in for names.  After that, I will number all names into one post and we will have a vote to pick the name.  I will try to have voting start on May 2nd so brainstorm, make some names and post them up.  Even if they are terrible, post it, it could inspire someone else to create a good name.

So from the other thread we have:
-Parkour du Nord
-L'Etoile du Parkour
-Snowflake Parkour

Some ideas I'm just coming up with:
-Mu Nu Phi Kappa, Greek letters translating to MNPK, kinda sounds like a frat though... Maybe just Mu Nu
-Ice Age
-Absolute Zero, wait, that doesn't make sense, at 0K, nothing moves...

National Jams / Midwest Jam 09 - Minneapolis MN - June 12-14th
« on: March 20, 2009, 06:44:03 PM »
The Midwest Jam will be held in Minneapolis MN this year, June 12-14.

To make sure we get as many people for our community, we needed to make the date earlier than it usually is.  Hope this does present too many problems to people who are used to it being in July.  Lodging will be provided at (depending on how many people) various traceurs houses.

Stay tuned for more information...

MN Jams / Midwest Jam Planning
« on: October 29, 2008, 06:49:01 AM »
As mentioned in another thread, when I get back to the States, I am going to get in contact with the authorities to help them understand what parkour and freerunning are and try to gain some acceptance in their eyes so we can have a hassle free (or limited) Midwest Jam.

So put down some ideas here on what we could tell them, videos we could show them, or anything else you think would benefit our cause.

We can plan the acutal jam a little later, first I think we should work on this because if we don't have the authorities on our side, 50 people running around won't go over too well.

My fellow traceurs and freerunners,

The time has come for my departure to another part of this world!  In just a few hours I will be in route to the city of lights, Paris.  If you do not know yet, I will be in Europe for the whole semester and will return on December 12th.  In the meantime, I hope to meet as many traceurs as I can, maybe I'll even get to meet some of the top people like Mr. David Belle or Stephan Vigroux, that would be SWEET!

As for all of you, I hope you all train hard and train safe.  I will see you when I return and you better be kickass!

This guy contacted me via email.  What do you think?

thanks. i actually have never seen a parkour video. i believe i saw a show on it once, perhaps on public television. i read some stuff off the website today so i have some idea. you could let me know the next time you and some friends are going to meet to do some training or whatever.

it would likely be one of my "Hidden Twin Cities" video features. here's a link to some of the recent pieces. as you'll see, i cover a very wide variety of subjects.

If we do it, I don't want to go to the pit.  That's where we've done all our stories.  I think we should go somewhere else.

Hey Gents,

February Jams wasn't really a success....Oh well, who runs in February anyway?

So, a idea I've kind of been tinkering with is over spring break, take a day trip or so to Duluth to jam with them boys up thar.  I'm talking with one to see if anyone will be there, but yeah.  It would be somewhere between the 15-23.  Don't know when, don't know if  it will work, but if it did, it would be fun!  Any comments?  I know people will be working and what not, but maybe it could still be a possibility.

So, there was a little talk about the Colorado jam.  Then there's the Midwest Jam.  Also, there is a Chicago jam.  I would love to go to all these.  Chicago jam is in June, Midwest is July, and Colorado is August.  What are your thoughts? Get some ideas for travel, possible lodging, etc.
