Pics & Vids / Tricknetics - The Webster & Front Flip
« on: August 31, 2012, 07:35:42 PM »
So, over the last few weeks of summer until school starts and I can finally start jamming with my friends during lunch, I took it upon myself to go at it everyday and land both the standing webster and the running front flip without fail While this isn't my best work, it's the best I got on my camera. My front flip was a bit weak on rotation and landing and my webster was a tad bit weak on rotation, but it's good enough for a video. Thoughts are always welcome. Next week is the backflip and the J-Step Gainer. :)

Pics & Vids / Running Webster - Progressions - Suggestions?
« on: August 13, 2012, 08:14:47 PM »
So, I've just recently started practicing this, and it's been hit and miss for me. While I can get a running webster landed (as seen in the video), I land way too far to the ground which in turn isn't healthy for my knees. Anyway, what I think I'm doing wrong is either one of two things, or more than likely both. As I run up to the object, I need to jump higher to gain more momentum and maybe rotate a little more. Additionally, I need to tuck a little longer and release a little less soon. Suggestions are welcome! Thanks!

Anyone else here in Washougal or close by that's interested in Parkour or has been doing so for a little while now? Let me know, I'm part of a group called Tricknetics based in Washougal near WHS.

You'll see what I'm talking about after watching the video. What are your favorite styles. Faster rotation so you can land straight up, or slower rotation so you can land lower and go into a roll?

Movement / Landed My First Webster Today from a Table!
« on: July 28, 2012, 06:12:32 PM »
So, I've been doing front flips and side flips on both the grass and the gym for quite a while now (2+ months) and decided it was time to get over my timidness and try out a webster on a table. I did my rotation a little bit slower and a little bit smaller than I usually do on the grass, and to my surprise, I landed it almost perfectly. I have a video, but it's of pretty crappy quality. Anyway, super excited and it gave my a lot of confidence to do some other flips, and I got both the side flip and the front flip off both a table and the rock down in a few minutes afterwards. About the webster and the front flip, are you supposed to completely let go out of your tuck and keep your legs straight so that you land straight?

Hey everyone, first time poster, long time lurker. Anyway, we have this Parkour & Freerunning group called Triknetics that does a lot of different variations. Anyway, my group said that I should probably learn to do a front flip on the ground and not always off ledges, just so I have it completed. Anyway, after two days of practice, here is where I am at. I have the rotation and the right technique down, I just can't seem to stick the landing, am I supposed to land bent kneed or stock straight? It's a lot faster rotation that doing it off a ledge or rock, which is what I'm accustomed to.

Thanks everyone, tips are always welcome.
