Dude, act how YOU want to act not how others want you to act.
Live for you and how you want, its your life, not theirs.
If your 'friends' can't accept that your trying to become a better person and shun you for that, then they aren't the type of people you want to be hanging out with. That and if they stop being your friend because you become a better person then they where not true friends anyways.

If he did, they would have to change the name of it to David Belle Warrior! Because he would dominate it so epically...seriously, not even Chuck Norris would be able to compete with him.

not really. Its still practiced and followed all over the planet
the actual swordsmanship part of bushido is kind of out dated, but the ideals and discipline that it teaches are not.

well...I am making a suit of samurai armour, that and designing exotic hand to hand weapons...and other various nerdy things that don't really have a purpose.

Socialize / Motivation

I am extremely unmotivated. Not with just parkour, but with everything. Well, actually its better with parkour than most other things.
So I was just curious as to what everyone uses to get themselves motivated. For parkour, or anything really.

Consumer Whores / Looking at Jika-Tabi
« on: July 31, 2010, 06:55:04 PM »
So, I am in the market for a new pair of shoes and I saw these Jaki-Tabi (all the links are the same shoe).
http://www.jika-tabi.com/Products/sportsjog-black.html
http://www.amazon.com/Marugo-Sports-Jog-Jika-Tabi-Black/dp/B0032P1D4W/ref=pd_sbs_shoe_2
http://store.japan-zone.com/product_info.php?cPath=42&products_id=266

Does anyone know if these are any good for parkour?
Does anyone own a pair and care to share how they are?
I have looked around and have not found any reviews, or, really anything on them (yes I did read the review on the normal tabi boots).

They look like they would have decent grip and I know tabi are incredibly flexible and light.

Thanks for the help!

Socialize / Re: Is parkour a lifestyle?

parkour is most definitely a life style. Its a hell of a lot more involved than any sport I have ever been in.
Don't let your bro get to you. I have a brother that does the same thing. I have learned that if you just ignore em, they stop.

Socialize / Things that ruined your day
« on: March 26, 2010, 05:42:52 PM »
Since there is a 'things that made your day' thread, figured I'd make the opposite, everyone has there bad days...enjoy!

So I guess I'll start it off...
So Im on a robotics team, and I have been driving the robot for the last competition and half of the one we are doing right now. Well, our robot has been failing hard and thing after thing has gone wrong. I have been the driver and after every match a few of us have to try and fix what's not working on it. We'll its been like 3 weeks of hard work and a few of us finally got it fixed and working. Well as soon as this happens the advisor that determines the drive team walks up to me and tells me that Im off the drive team. He 'has to give all the student a fair chance at driving it'...yeah well FU!! The kid that got put on the drive team in my stead has been whining his ass off to the advisor that he wants to drive, he has done nothing to help the team or the robot, and his dad came to the competition and 'talked' to the advisor...they went into a separate room and the entire team is basically sure that he bribed them to get his son to be the driver...
So yeah, Im a bit pissed off. If something like this happens again, I'll quite the team and take to robot down with me...

Michigan / Re: Michigan regional jams?
« on: March 23, 2010, 07:31:28 PM »
I might be able to arrange a few houses for people in Ortonville...its about an hour drive from Ann Arbor, but its better than nothing (which Ortonville is :P)
Is there any possibility of there being a jam in the spring or early summer...Im going to Ottawa this summer and never coming back to Michigan, so I'd love to be able to go to a jam or two before I peace.

MI Jams / Any upcoming Jams???
« on: March 23, 2010, 07:23:01 PM »
My friends and I where wondering of there are any jams coming up in the near future...now that the weather is getting better and all.
We are all fairly new so we thought going to a jam would be a good way to help get motivated and learn a few things.
