Name: Steve
Start Date: November 28th, 2008
I put the starting date as yesterday because that's when I made the decision to start conditioning myself, working out more, training, etc to get into parkour. Although there's not much at my mom's apartment to do parkour practicing on, there's plenty of time and space to work out. So as soon as I said this last night, I decided to test my will power and dropped to start pushups. I haven't done much in a while, and I wasn't really keeping track of numbers, I was just getting myself motivated to rekindle my old habit of good daily regimens.
I actually didn't start with push-ups, sorry, I lied. I did some nice stretches from head to toe. Just some old stretches from back when I did martial arts and marching band which have sort of stuck to me for a while. They're good though, I get every muscle in my back/arms/legs/feet/hands stretched out. Gives some nice flexibility. Anyway after that was done, I dropped for pushups.
I didn't stay on the ground too long. It was more of a measure of how many I could keep up before tiring out. I did 10 - 10 - 10 regular pushups, then 10 - 5 pushups elevated with clapping, then a long round of sit-ups.
After that I did some nice leg stretches, then got down for leg lifts (I forgot the exact name, you lay with your hands near your tailbone and lift your legs up and down)... I didn't keep count, but I did them consecutively for about 30-45 seconds at a time, with a small break between sets.
Did some jumping jacks, some hand grip excersizes, general cardio to keep my heart rate up, some cool-down stretches, and that was that. It was nice to get back in the swing of things.
Once I get back to campus after the weekend I'll start working on more, and I'll also have 3 gyms and a heated pool at my disposal.
Goals (Nov. 29, 2008)- Re-instate daily regimen.
- Brush up on rolls.
- Accomplish some beginning Parkour techniques.
- Find daily hotspots for practice on campus.
