i guess it looks good, from a grip and arch point of view... however, it looks flimsy in my opinion...  i dont really like the upper strap, and the way they described the material makes it sound too synthetic and stretchy, versus something that will hold your weight if you slide sideways in them, and not cause you to curl your ankle.

Ill keep my mind open though, i hope I'm wrong

i have had the similar problem.  though this is hard to do, it works:

if someone is open minded enough to ask what you are doing, explain it to them in the simplest, most consise way possible.  offer to give them the link to a parkour site, such as APK.

if they just laugh and make fun, you dont need to worry about them, they are immature and close minded. YOU know what you are really doing, and as long as you enjoy it, you shouldnt let anyone else's opinion stop you!

hehe wiki again runcincy ;D. good choice.  Its nice to see some new faces around here, and id just like to say hi Hyphnx!  Yep your old enough, im 16.  and as far as blisters, just keep at it and soon your blisters will turn into callouses and wont hurt anymore.  as for now you cant really avoid them, or at least I dont suggest it.

simply think of the pain your blisters cause you as the feeling of progress. Plus blisters make your hands look tough and manly hehe.

hmm i am relatively new to parkour. I was doing some vaults over a highway railing (those cinder concrete blocks) and my friend who also does parkour complemented me on my vaults that I previously could not do for my life.  Its nothing big, but it made me feel good, and put off discouragement :)

New York / Looking to form a group!
« on: September 03, 2006, 05:58:04 PM »
Hey, not to say that we cant all, be one big happy NY crowd, I was looking for some traceurs within the 14-18 age group to chill out and train together.  All experience levels welcome.

I am 16 myself, and live on the mid-east side.

Movement / Re: ANOTHER roll thread (immense shoulder pain)
« on: September 01, 2006, 08:57:07 PM »
i mean bending my shoulder in so i can make it round and roll.  I dont know, for some reason I roll up the arm, I am not putting significant weight on it, and then when I get to my shoulder it jams on the ground as I roll.  If I cant get it soon, I will make a video (as horribly embarassing as it may look  ;D ) and post it.

If it is what you really feel, nothing is foolish and stupid.

hmm very interesting... I will be the first to admit that I started "parkour" in order to try and not copy , but rather adapt what David Belle sees parkour as.  However as I have actually been training and practicing, as well as talking to all of you on this board, (and after reading your post here), I am starting to realize more and more about the true way (for me) to experience this; whatever you may call it.

I just want to say thank you all for showing me this, even if not intentional  ;) .  Because it sure feels good.

I went to my friends house other day, and while trying to show him some of what I have been doing lately he said o is it that gay thing those kids in the park do like jumping off of benches and over fences and stuff.

I would have taken offense to this previously, and gotten defensive.  However, now I simply explained to him what I believe parkour or w/e is to me in a general sense, and accepted that everyone may not be open to what "we do".

So ya, Thanks everyone, I hope some of you can relate to what I am feeling, (if I got it across clear enough) ,  and I look forward to "Matthew Auster-ing" in the future. (well put colin).

'course im still gonna have proper landing technique, ive been jumping from things 2 times my height since I was 5, so ive got the "dont hurt your ankles or knees" thing down pretty well.

No amount of technology can ever replace good technique in any area obviously, however I was just wondering which you guys recomended  ;)

Ive decided to go with the pegasus and they feel great   :D

thanks
