Parkour And Freerunning / Wallrun Landing Question
« on: September 05, 2019, 02:51:04 AM »
Hello everyone,,
I've been drilling wallrunning with my friends a lot more frequently as of late, and our distances seem to be developing nicely. A problem that I'm facing now with it is my landings. I'll do a three-step wallrun, and get roughly 3 or more meters off the ground. Due to the fact that the walls we train on have no top ledge to grab onto, and the fact that there are hanging pipes that prevent us from having enough room to roll when we land, we have to simply distance between cities drop and absorb the impact. As you'd guess, this is starting to hurt my ankles whenever I drop. They aren't under constant strain since we only drill on a semi-regular basis, but the higher that we are able to run up the wall, the more pain that we're getting in our ankles/legs.

What I want to ask is if there is a specialized landing designed for better absorbing shock in these instances, when rolling is not an option. We'd find other walls, but it's hard to meet up after school for us, so we're pretty much restricted to the one.

Parkour And Freerunning / The right way to do a back full/360?
« on: August 25, 2019, 11:12:54 PM »
I'm pretty new to parkour but I can do a few tricks on the ground (including a backflip) and on the trampoline. Recently I got a back full twist although it is more of a "gymnastics" style. When watching parkour videos, I see two types of back fulls.

The first being vertical, going almost completely upside down and the second being a 'tricker' full which looks to be easier to learn.

What I want to know is when you use each type and how you set up to them e.g. from a round off or a scoot. Also, when on the trampoline, my legs are straight as it helps me spin faster - is there a downside to this?  Is it advisable to learn a tricker full on the tramp because I don't know why but I'm finding it pretty hard to get my legs round in time and maintain height.
