Parkour And Freerunning / Re: PARKOUR SHOES. WHICH ONE IS GOOD?
« on: May 12, 2013, 04:13:31 PM »
In natural environments, I like bare feet. In towns or city's I like feiyues. They have good grip, are thin enough so it is not hugely different from bare feet, and are dirt cheep fpr a shoe.

10,000 hours is a short enough amount of time that everyone could become a master at something within their lifetime. Even if you only practice for an average of an hour a day, you would have 10,000 hours in after about 27.5 years. How long do most Americans spend watching tv, or using things like facebook a day? I think that lots of people just need to manage their time better.

Big drops have been known to be not so good for your knees, so you should definetly be thinking about that. But yeah, make sure you have a lot of forward momentum, and make sure your roll from smaller drops is perfect.

Smaller things. I really doubt I would ever catch a deer once it has seen me, and not, I would not be able to get as clean a kill. But things like rabbits, it is doable with. And if I ever tried to kill something like a moose with a knife, I would be dead.

I feel it is more respectful towards what ever I am killing because it has more of a chance to survive, and also because I am closer to it when it dies so I feel sorrow.

When I hunt with only a knife and I have to make a run at the animal because it has seen me.

Practice. A lot.

Don't worry about how your movements look, but how they feel. As you become more comfortable with them they will begin to look smoother.

Injuries - Discussion / Re: jumper's knee

Yes, that is what I mean. Many traditional running shoes have enough padding that if you land with bad technique it will not hurt you, but they may still damage your knees. A good way to tell how good your landing is the amount of noise it makes; quiet landings are better. Also, be sure to warm up and cool down when you are training.

And you are welcome.

What about your technique though? Depending on the shoes you are wearing, it may not hurt when you jump but you could still be hurting your knees. I would take off your shoes and test your technique.

You may be jumping from too high without proper technique or enough drilling to build up the necessary muscle. How high are yo jumping from?

Acrobat legend, both of the posted certifications have physical tests. So, if you can't do the moves, you don't pass.

I just jump everywhere. Like instead of walking, just hop. Weighted squats too.

While practicing tacs to turning snap kick while in the air, I hit my head on the ceiling.

I can now just see somewhere I want to get to I can be there. If not, I get a new challenge, and challenges are fun.

With a two handed reverse vault you can slow your fall more easily.
