conquering your fears and staying within your limits while doing so is a big part or parkour. its just part of the journey and you will conquer fear with time.

parkour and freerunning is not about being the best or showing off. you need to just keep training and not worry about what other people are doing or what other people say. i deal with trolls EVERYDAY and you just have to learn to ignore them.  :)

You misunderstand me, Matthew. I was not implying that being shy makes him as a**hole. My implication was that if a guy cares enough to come talk to me then perhaps he is not an a**hole.

ohhhhh i see. my bad. :)

confidence, confidence, confidence. that is sooooo important with women. im sure thats been mentioned but u could prolly ask any girl on this forum and they'll tell u confidence is prolly the biggest thing.

Parkour And Freerunning / Re: Creativity- Whats your experience?
« on: January 31, 2011, 07:57:18 AM »
What are some of your tips on staying creative?
listen to some music u like, and let ur mind go and just think of cool things that are in ur ability to do. like i remember when i 1st started and i would find 2 rails that were right next to each other and you would have to clear both of them to get to the next obstacle. (i hope im not confusing anyone i just cant explain it for some reason :P) and id do like a kong on the 1st rail and as im still in the air going over to the 2nd one id do a lazy vault. and id mix like 2 vaults that i liked and id do it. thats a fun and challenging but not overly dangerous way to work on ur creative flow and vaults. another thing, joe brock's tip is great. thats another great way is to just lace em up and go out for a walk and look at ur envirement. again good tip joe.  :)

How often do you think you should train seriously, and how often do you think you should just have fun?
i think it should definitly be balanced. but i personally like to have more fun and be creative more than anything. i havent been training as creativly recently though but i plan to start thinking of new things when the snow melts. ill be working on new lines with new tricks, new vaults, ect. i cant wait.  :D

btw kick a## topic steve.

Parkour And Freerunning / Re: What scares me about Parkour.

I mean, the only sport I see that as possible would be basketball, and I'm pretty sure most of them probably enjoy the game, there are just a few playing because of the pay checks.

about the few that play just cuz of paychecks was my point. i just cant name any players. ive read prolly like 20 or 30 articles on it, and yes most of them were basketball players.

Parkour And Freerunning / Re: Dream a little dream...
« on: January 31, 2011, 07:39:58 AM »
i had one where almost everyone did parkour and i had this tag competition with some black guy and he fell off a railing and died. then my team got sponsered and there was this girl on my team that was pretty hott btw. and i basically became one of the biggest freerunners in the world because i got 5 steps up a wall and did 3 backflips out of it. so my town celebrated and everything and threw us this really big carnival thing. then the girl and i had sex and she said ill brb and she never came back. so i went and looked for her and i found her and she was like all white like a ghost and then we kissed and then we floated up to the sky.

i could literally write a book about this dream because it was so vivid and long. this is only like the short short SHORT version.  :P

your skills could get u places and its pretty cool what ur doing. its a very unique skill it could def be helpful in some situations. just dont start stealing stuff and that sort of thing cuz graffiti isnt that big of a felony(or at least in indiana its not) but stealing stuff could get u on probation and house arrest and that sort of stuff. just looking out for you.  :)

backflips in my opinion and most of the people i know backflips are the easiest physically but the hardest mentally. friendly competitions are fun and i def agree that it helps u to push urself. just rest up and train man just dont get to careless cuz wallflips and backflips can be very dangerous if ur not careful. i know from expierence. i landed flat back on the ground off an 8 to 12 foot jump doing a backflip, not fun. :D

Tricking / Re: Wall flip; help please!
« on: January 27, 2011, 08:34:02 AM »
how i learned is i 1st started off with just doing it one footed. two foot is more intimidating for most people. whats funny is that i learned how to do wall flips before a regular backtuck. idk if thats weird but just sharing a small fact about me.  :P make sure that u dont push ur foot just straight off the wall, you'll land awkward and hurt urself or ull just land on ur head or something like that. not fun. u want to jump up and out of the wall to make sure u get the height which gives u more time to tuck, and rotate, its kinda like running straight up a wall to grab a ledge. u wouldnt want to just push straight out cuz then ud just hit the wall and bounce straight backwards and get no upward height. u want to jump up the wall and its pretty much the same thing with the wall flip. with getting over the fear of doing it, thats a task that u have to conquer on ur own. tricking, parkour, freerunning, a big part of it is overcoming fear.
