Title: Sean's Journal
Post by: Sean Boyd on July 29, 2010, 05:17:20 AM
Currently been training my parkour abilities a minimum of three times a week, plus an open gym session. I also run cross country/track & field to keep in shape as well as improve my muscle reflex and stamina.

Basic info is I've been a traceur for several years now. I've started tricking a month or so ago. I'm 16 years old, 5'7" and 130lbs. with a body fat % around 7% because of my high school distance running career.

For parkour I can currently perform: all the "basic" vaults smoothly (depending on the situation that is), 12 foot wall runs, 5-8 foot precisions, and 12-15 foot gap leaps (once again depending on the situation).

For freerunning/tricking I am currently able to perform: Front/back tuck, back layout, front pike, full/half, arabian, b-twist/kick, wall flip, wall flip 180, wall flip flair, straight legged gainer, and probably more (I'll post once I remember the rest of the list). I'm currently working on my corkscrew and wall flip full as well, I post progress as it comes.

My upcoming goals are to:

-Properly land a corkscrew and wallflip full.
-Improve my flow through both a rural and urban environment.
-Improve my vertical jump.
-Get more intune with my surroundings and environment to become more in tune with myself.

So that's my first entry, more to come soon.

So it's been a bit of time since I last posted. My diets changed for the better. It's been a week or so without any unnatural sugars and very few unnatural fats. Starting my rise for strength training again, which isn't going to badly, just trying to put on muscle mass without drinking milk (to help reduce my acne) causes a few road blocks, but what's parkour about now?

I've started taking Multivitamins to help some of my vitamin/mineral deficiency. I also take Zinc and Vitamin D to help combat my acne problem stated earlier, which seems to help a bit.

Parkour and freerunning has been going well, but tricking has not. Cross Country starts up Wednesday so that will help my overall endurance.

So today's been a very.......interesting day. Soon I start a job acting as Peter Pan, which as we all know is a kid who decided never to grow up, by performing acrobatic feats and stunts. I have this down fairly well as you may assume, but then I found out I also have a ballet scene. I'm not doing to horribly I think, but I need to get a stronger upper body for several of the lifts. Just wanted to put this under my journal so I go back to it and see how much I've progressed.

Parkour training tomorrow with the team and open gym Wednesday.

*Also needs to start some better weight training in their*
