Backflip assistance!
« on: April 19, 2008, 03:21:31 PM »
Last week at a gymnastics gym i was doing backtucks successfully into a foam pit. like unfolding to my legs well before hitting the pit. Sadly when i tried doing one out of the pit i was landing on my poor knees T___T. Any assistance before i throw a few over a sandpit near my house?

Some people end up getting stuck on the feeling of traveling backwards (off the ledge into the pit), when a good standing back tuck shouldn't really move back at all.  Focus on using ALL of your momentum to go up, which should get you a bit more air, and a bit more time to rotate.
