Okay, thanks for recapping for me guys. I'm doing a project in Modern World on Grains/Starches, the Food Pyramid, and its connection to obesity in america, so I wanna make sure I've got some stuff to start sparking ideas. Thanks again =]

peanut butter goes well with/in:
Apples
Oatmeal
Bananas
Celery
Smoothies

Or even by the spoonful.

I don't see the problem here :P

Eliminate bread completely? Hmmm... I'll try it. Might be the reason I have this damn fat roll over my abs...

Don't think it's that simple...but it may be a good start.

Eliminating breads and anythign with flour is an amazing start.  If you can do that cold turkey, u will see big decline in BF% within a few weeks

you don't HAVE to do anything.

You can eat breads and rices from time to time but it is better to limit them, especially if you don't understand their role in your diet.

True I don't have to do anything.  But I am a health nut.  And I want to give my body the best.  My goal is to look half my age when I'm forty, and I'm willing to take the steps to do it.

I know this topic has been pretty dormant for a while, but there is a really good article on the impact of carbs on the diet on www.theiflife.com

http://www.theiflife.com/2008/09/05/carbs-are-not-the-enemy-for-weight-loss-the-carb-confusion-is/

For anyone interested, this is a really comprehensive, easy to read article on the major hormone players in fat storage along with reasoning as to why breads and processed carbs of all kinds are bad.  It also goes into the topic of whether we need carbs or not.

Cool article. So... avoid processed foods at all costs. But exactly makes a food "processed?" Is grilled chicken or steamed vegetables count as processed or is more along the lines of the artificial/chemically-enhanced crap?

anything in a box or bag pretty much...

anything that contains ingredients that are not natural....just need to learn what is and is not processed...im not sure how to be more clear on that without a detailed list and i don't have time to do that right now :P
