I apologize for reviving this, but I've read through the whole topic and I feel I've learned a lot from this.
I, too, thought that the food pyramid was accurate, although I hardly followed it religiously.
I do enjoy bread, but only because it is very convenient for holding tuna and the like. Hardly something I can't live without.
I'll be sure to incorporate more fruits and nuts in my diet, but is there anything besides lettuce that serves as a good edible "plate" for food?
