hey, i reserved the free running game at babages and they said it would be coming out in November, but then i called just now to see how much longer into november until it comes out, when the guy said there is no such thing as a game called free running coming out ever. i thought he was on drugs or something, so i called game stop and they dont know anything about a game called free running either.

i dont get this because about 2 months ago when i reserved the copy at babages and i talked to one of the game stop employees about it.

So, like 2 months everybody knew about it and now nobody does.

it is like men in black came and erased every body's memory of the free running game (flashy thing) except for free runners.

does anybody know why this would happen.

also, i paid 5 bucks towards the game to reserve it (so if the game costs 40 bucks i paid 5 bucks early, so the game now costs 35 bucks, get it?) and now that is just wasted money that i want back.

Im not exactly sure if anyone here is going to have your answers. it was in collaboration with UF, i think taking it up with them would be your best bet.

i haven't really been following the game, but is it actually called "Freerunning" ? if you tell them thats what it is called and they type that in, nothing will come up if thats not what its called. what i would do is go in there and have them look up your list of reserved titles, that way whatever it is called, it will show up.

interesting concept, but you might be better off simply practising in real life

I used my mad Google skillz and "Freerunning" is supposed to be released for the PSP in Feb 06 by Eidos.

That looks... interesting to say the least though. Think I'll stick to the real thing though.
Besides some of the stuff I saw in the little video clips that they have you doing in the game look just a little unrealistic in my opinion.

thanks a lot coastal. The first time i asked game stop if they had a game called "freerunning" they said , "why yes it is coming out in November" The second time i asked they looked at me like i had 10 heads.

And i think pretty much any video game is unrealistic at least a little. I mean do you really think anybody could pull off 1,000,000 point combos in real life skate boarding. That is one of the main things in all video games.

Also, don't you think parkour itself is kind of unrealistic to the untrained eye?

exactly, everyone is talking about how unrealistic it is so it is no good.... does that not apply to tony hawk and his games? there is NO difference between the two, its not made to be super realistic, just something to do when its 3am and snowing

Tony Hawk is the first game that popped into my head when I watched the clip. If people just take the game for what it is, all will be cool. Though, I'm sure there were hard-core skaters out there that think the Tony Hawk games are way over the top and that TH is a sellout.

well shit, Tony Hawk MADE the game, hes quite the skater himself. i just think they see it as something to look up to because it looks so elite... whereas people in parkour are so nit-picky about stupid things, they just need to find something wrong with everything

That's all the more reason to label him a sellout. I don't fall into this category but I used to know a few people that did . . . I thought the whole idea was/is ludicrous!!
