Wisconsin Training Groups
« on: April 07, 2008, 05:32:02 PM »
At Israeli's suggestion, we now have a stickied spot for people to post their training groups, so newcomers can easily find people to train with.

If you're looking for a group, please do NOT post "seeking" requests in this thread. If you don't see a group from your area here, chances are one doesn't exist (which gives you a good opportunity to start one!) :D "Seeking"-type posts will be removed.

If you represent a group (even if it's a group of one!), please add your information here, and use the following format:

Madison/Dane County area
Madison, WI
Madparkour
Contact: Muse_of_Fire
madparkour@gmail.com
www.madisonparkour.com

Madparkour has been training since June of 2007. We jam in and around downtown Madison 2-3 times a week during the summer and late fall, and have weekly gym jams in winter. We do a lot of community service in Madison and we're happy to jam with visitors anytime. Feel free to contact us if you're in the area!

Mercury Parkour started training in parkour and freerunning in April 2007 but also has a very strong background in martial arts, gymnastics, and bodybuilding.  We usually do very light training in our hometown due to a frustrating relationship with the local police, however, we also train as much as possible in Eau Claire or the Twin Cities.  We also attend the open gym sessions at the YMCA gymnastics center in Eau Claire once or twice a month.  Always looking for new people to run with so feel free to visit!

Urban Oscillation started training in the fall of 2004. Most of our training is done downtown in small groups as a very relaxed, lets go out and have fun mindset. Sometimes we do drills or runs but mainly just walk area to area. We pk the most during the summer months and go usually on the weekends or late at night on weeknights. We are always open to show people around the city and to do some parkour.

PK Squirrel has been training since early 2007 and consists of only three members at the moment.  Teliko and TParkour from AmericanParkour.com.  We train 3-4 times a week often on a random basis, but or official training day is Thursday where we rent out a gym and use mats.  We try regularly to travel to Madison to train and "try" to meet up with Muse_of_Fire.  If your in the Waukesha/Delifield/Genesee area and are looking to for people to train we are always looking for more people to train with.  Feel free if your ever in the area don't hesitate to contact so we can jam.    ;D

River Falls, Wisconsin.  During the school year the PK club meets twice a week on campus.  During the summer, I'll be here.

Hey I'm new to this. I'm looking to jump in this week with a group and see how it goes. So if someone in the Madison area would be nice enough to show me the ropes please post where and when you would be training this week, so I can get in on it.

Thanx
Dan

Hi, Dan.

This thread is just to keep a list of all the active training groups and contact people in the state. If you're interested in training with someone from Madison, check in the Madparkour forum under "training calendar" to see where and when some of us might be out. Alternatively, if you will be in the Madison area at a certain time, you are welcome to post in our training calendar forum with a place, date, and time and we can meet you there. This summer we've been kind of scattered so our training hasn't been very consistent, but please do check back on our training calendar regularly to find the information you seek. Hey, all.

I've been training in Milwaukee for about 3 or 4 months now, and have recently started training with a small group. There's 5-6 of us now, and we're always looking for more folks to train with, new hotspots, etc.

We've only been training as a group for a short time, but we're all pretty dedicated to continual, *safe* improvement, and to learning new, more efficient ways to move!

We usually train in the Riverwest area, or on the East Side. Our current hotspots are the walking path between Bremen & Fratney on the east/west and Burleigh & Auer on the north/south axis, the East Side Library on North Ave, and, of course, the UWM campus, particularly the Union. We have been training on Mondays and Wednesdays, and whenever we feel like it otherwise.

If you're interested in joining up for some training in the East Milwaukee area, with a pretty laid back bunch of relative newbies, of varying ages (Seriously, we vary in ages between 17 and 36!)  drop me a line, here or at digitalted (at) gmail d0t c0m.

I hope to train with you soon!!

Cheers,
-Ted, MKE Area Traceur

Im Jeremy, I'm 14 years old, I have been training for about around 9 months, and would very happily come out to meet anyone willing to train. I'm looking to increase awareness of Parkour in Kenosha, and WI in general. The easiest ways to contact me are to PM me, or to Text/Call (Weekdays please text or PM, i have school!) and from there we can set up a meeting place, date, and time. Hope to have a training buddy soon!!  ;D
