Yes

Doing anything barefoot strengthens your feet more than shoes do, in general.

I read it but I am left somewhat confused. Can you give a flow-chart like, simple explanation of how to walk, and how to run?

very well put together +1
i didn't even realize some of the glitches in my stride and i asked my buddy that does track to help me with it (he's very knowledgeable about this subject, apparently his coach perfected his stride) i also like the pictures very informative.
 
and to the above question about walking barefoot it absolutely does increase arch strength. humans wherent born with shoes and we weaken our arches over times with shoes that are comfy but not necessarily perfect for our feet

Yall said to run on soft sufaces and I'm really bad at telling distances so I was going to run around the football feild. How many times would I have to run around tht field to get a mile?

Do math.

360 feet in length with end zones
160 feet in width

1 time around is the perimeter, P.

P = 360+360+160+160 = 1040 feet

There are 5280 feet in a mile.

5280 feet/mile * 1 lap/1040 feet = 5280/1040 lap/mile = ~5.08 lap/mile

Run around it 5 times and you are JUST shy of a mile...about 422 feet shy.

Dude math and me don't mix. honeslty, I've taken algerbra 1 and 2 three times each. not cause i failed i passes each with a D but a D wasnt good enough for me. I would have kept retakening trying to get a better grade but the school made me stop. Thats for the answer. I just hope the feild is open at night. ;D

This could explain why my legs hurt so much from attempting to run about 3 miles on some road. Bookmarked this post, definately.

It should be looked at with horizontal motion in mind, which is to say you are not working against gravity you are moving parallel to it




Don't you mean perpendicular?

moving parallel to gravity would be going up or down, wouldn't it?
