BOOM! It's been years and this is a journal of a fresh start.

- - - - -

Since the 12th of June, I've been inspired by Ian William's month 8 video so I decided to have an hour of training everyday. Mostly pertaining to parkour and conditioning, but some training dedicated to martial arts (basically anything just to stay active)

6/12/12 - Day 1
Parkour training, getting myself back into my groove, trying to make my flow less 'rusty'. It was around a park and a school. I mostly practiced vaults, some climbing, gaps, etc. I did a drill towards the end where I would do a long series of underbars throughout an entire rail so that I can improve on my spacial awareness/coordination. After that, I did a drill where I would run a distance to a bench, vault it, walk back, repeat. I did that for 5-10 minutes.

6/13/12 - Day 2
Parkour training, same idea as above. I did some unconventional training at a park, working on balance, and maneuvering. I tried not to work too hard because I was somewhat sore from the day before and didn't want to push myself too hard.

6/14/12 - Day 3
Parkour training. I went to a park, doing some skill training with handstands against a wall and then attempting freestanding, wall-run/climbs, balance, precisions, and working to get my double-kongs better by doing some progressions (though I got really close to doing some at the end), then some planche work towards the end. There was a lot of walk to and from the park (Same with Day 2 actually) so my shins and feet were exhausted.

6/15/12 - Day 4
Conditioning, and parkour training. I did a set of uneven pullups, and a set of practicing front lever variations. Afterwards I did some pistol 'box jumps' up stairs. After wards I started drilling precisions and kongs, and then basically worked on grip, balance, and a lot of barefoot training. It was a bit slow until afterwards, I started to constantly drill my kongs more because I REALLY want to get my double kong down!

6/16/12 - Day 5
Sparring, and a game of ninja tag! I did some sparring, grappling, kicks, punches. I only have annoying bruises on my left foot and left shin so I'm good. It was quite exhausting, though my friend went more than everyone else and ended up with burns from the gloves, and getting his knees messed up from several kicks. Ninja tag was fun, I'd say I basically improved on being barefoot, being stealthy, coordination, and moving around with out using my sense of sight.

6/17/12 - Day 6
Lazy day. I didn't really do much today, my neck was sore from adjusting posture and submission wrestling so I tried not to deal with any upper body work. I basically just walked for roughly an hour with hardly any balance training.

I'm not going to tie myself to this challenge now because I'm a disgrace. I lack discipline in everything I try so... blah.

6/22/12
I did some exercises between several commercial breaks, pullups, pistols, L-sits, planche progressions, etc. Afterwards I did some PNF stretching.

6/23/12
I did tons of walking and did various types of training at Santa Monica, I found it really hard to deal with fear at some points but other than that, I was pretty satisfied with my training. Though I guess seeing a lot of talented people around you kind of makes you feel weak, but whatever, haha.

I haven't been able to train as much since starting college. I have to walk an hour everyday just traveling, so that tends to tire me out. Then there is my terrible sleeping schedule, and the actual work. (Which I need to ACTUALLY do since I finally got the code to use the book online.)

6/29/12
Today I did a lot training. I did a small amount of parkour training, walked, rested, and went to another park. There, I did some more training with various stuff; climbing, handstands, levers/muscle-ups. Later at the park I did some submission wrestling and I have to admit I was a bit surprised by how long it lasted and my arm went rubber because he resisted a choke until my arm basically died. I ended up winning after a second go, though I couldn't really say I was proud due to the fact that he vomited on a long break.

I went to Santa Monica again. I did a lot of ring training (My hands are weathered like a warrior's!) I did a rope climb, went off into the water and wrote, "TO HELL WITH CIRCUMSTANCES, I CREATE OPPORTUNITIES!" -Bruce Lee, along the sand. I finished up the day doing some work with rails, ledges, and walls. I was still sore and stiff from yesterday, in fact my right thigh/groin had this odd soreness, stiffness, and pain when I raised my bent leg at a certain height.

I did a small amount of training around my mom's house. I worked with unconventional wall-climbing variations with a brick wall, popvaults, flow, etc. I almost did a popvault with too much power that I almost flew over the wall!

I did a light amount of somewhat 'gtg' of various exercises just to keep myself going.
7/11/12
I did the same as the previous day, I think I did a bit more though. I mostly worked on planche progressions, but I also worked on L-sits, and some squat variations.

On another note, lately I'm feeling more determined to work towards bouldering movements (though I don't really have the time and environment for it) and training to be prepared for Ninja Warrior for when I'm 21, 3 years from now.

Light gtg training towards various goals. I did a little run, then found a little spot to do a little training, then walked back home.
7/13/12
I did some training and conditioning at Santa Monica. I worked the rings, and worked on a few exercises, went swimming a bit. But after then after the rings and swimming, my hands were a bit beaten up so practicing parkour was a bit rough and I kept making small slips. There was a wall-run I've been working on that I barely managed to touch the top of today, but I need to keep working on it to be able to climb up. I did some small conditioning towards the end, and that was that.

I did a small amount of training. The first thing I did was a catleap that left me injured the rest of the day, the next day my 2nd biggest toe was a bit swollen. I practiced rolls, precisions, climbing a few trees. I didn't do anything special, just taking my new shoes for a test drive.

I walked about a bit today and then found a new spot nearby. It's a nearly empty shopping center, and around the side and the back there are a lot of rails, ledges, etc. The only thing is that I found it hard to find anything interesting to work on without risking joint problems. I played around the area for a while, now I just need to put the spot to good use.

I had some pathetic, half-assed, unproductive training. In fact, I didn't accomplish anything on my to-do list though so...

I went to Santa Monica, did some pullups, worked the rings, etc. I did a pk run all the way back to the parking lot to get picked up. Afterwards when I came home, I worked on some planche progressions and notice that I have actually been improving.

7/5/12
I did some parkour training. I worked with crane landings, wallclimbs, wallruns, vaults, etc.

Today I did some parkour training at the nearby school teaching my friend basics. I did a lot of precision and vault stuff and toyed around at some nice set of rails.

I did some parkour training at a nearby undeveloped shopping center. I practiced mostly precisions, balance, and flow. I also worked on practicing kongs at an odd long/low angle.

I went for a run for the first time in ages, I probably jogged a total of 10-15 minutes (at different times), and ended up walking the rest of the 45ish. I set the goal to be able to job 30 minutes straight since my stamina is crap.

8/17/12
I went to Santa Monica. I worked on the rings and I'm starting to find that my hands are losing their strength real fast (Probably because it's still tearing a little? I'm not too sure). I tried to do a frontflip off a ledge and into a sand and ended up landing on my ass. I think I tried to compensate for the height and I was a bit hesitant. I also played beach volleyball which felt like a waste of energy in my opinion because of the grueling sun and how much we both sucked, haha. In terms of parkour, I didn't really do much until we were leaving where I ran all the way back to the parking lot going through areas with lots of obstacles.

Today I played a game of tag we call, "Ninja zombie tag" where the people are it have their eyes closed and it spreads, etc. I did few other parkour related things such as flow work, precisions, and little bit with double kongs (I'm getting so close!)
