I have to wonder why Footlocker only carries size 14 and 15 in the white when you can get any size from K-Swiss.

I was doing broad jumps the other day and was maxing them out to see how far i could jump and i ended up hurting/straining/pulling, don't know which, a mucscle some where above my left hip, sorta on the side, but more center like. Kinda hard to explain. It hurts if i try to do pull-ups or lift myself with my arms.

Question: Should I still go Saturday and see how it does or just make it another rest day?

Just dont't want to make it worse  :(

You can always come and hang out man, just don't do anything too strenuous.

Alright, i don't seem to hurt it when it do pk rolls cause i did a height above my head pk roll and was fine. I should be there, unless i like die or something  :-Sarcasm

EDIT: I don't think it is possible to get hernia from doing "broad jumps", is it? lol, i hope not, just kinda feels like it would be hernia since it is close to where it occurs but hernia is from weight lifting i believe.

There are many ways to get a hernia. Do I think you should be worried? No probably not.

Big tip to save your knees: Work up to heights. Even though you can land them no problem, even though it doesn't hurt; watch yourself. Your knees take permanent damage, make sure you've got the proper conditioning for the muscles around them. A good way to measure is a foot a month. Start somewhere between 2-3' and drill your drops. Next month up it by a foot and continue drill. Continue with regular conditioning, squats and such. However, I'm not a stickler for absolute adherence to this. If you're in the middle of a run and there's a 5' drop don't worry too much about it if you're on month 2 of drilling see? Just realize that even though it's possible, it isn't always smart. A 10' drop is silly at this stage, and in fact most stages. Like I said, it doesn't mean you shouldn't ever do it, just minimize how often. Know your limits and train smart.

see you tomorrow :)

Hey guys, sorry I had to leave so early today. That heat was awful. . . Anyhow, do you guys want more structure in the training or are you good how it is? I want you guys to have fun :P.

I think how it is works just fine for me, a little structure is good and probably necessary for some of us but then to be able to just have fun and see what we can accomplish is good too.

I vote: keep it the way it is. (maybe a tiny bit more structure)

A lot of it will require practice in our own time, example: pk rolls  ;) . I think everything is fine right now for me, we probably could do less lying around time xD but it was hot and had my own little pain. You did good explaining the rolls and palm spins so i like how it is also.

If i get better, i will prob let you guys know if i go down there to mess around or not.

Alrighty, so next time I'm thinking I'll set up some drills for the first hour then take it to freeform.

Sweet, sounds awesome. What type of drills do you have in mind? My opinion: Landing drills first then basic climbing, and mabey have us incorporate that into running from one side of Founders to another? But that is kinda what we do all ready  ;D

See the running/climbing touches more on basic conditioning stuff. I want to direct the Saturday sessions to becoming more comfortable with the various movements.

So basic idea:
Landing Drill
Cat Leap Drill
Roll Drill
Tic Tac Drill
Quadrupedal Movement (QM) Drill
Wallup Drill.

The plan is to get in a line and just have everyone go in order. Probably do about 20 rounds. Or if it applies you can find another spot to do the drill and just get the number in.

Word, if you check out my training log from a few months ago I did the same thing as David.

Anyhow, does someone wanna come train with me once or twice during the week? I'd like to keep the numbers minimal so we can focus on individual needs/wants. David and Gray, I'm lookin' at you since you're the only two who post. I'm generally not free until 5:30-6:00 M-F, and I work in Ozark, so the actual meet time on whatever day will probably be 6:30ish pm.

OMG! lol, i think by mid-tomarrow my pain might be gone, i did some crunches (as a way to measure the pain) and it didn't hurt that bad... yeah, i am totally free when on a normal schedule during the week around those times, so yeah, name a day and i will come .... my dad said Phelps Grove park has a path with "obstacles", not exactly sure what he means but i am going to head down their tomarrow and check it out to see if it is worth training at...

I saw you log a while back, i will check for the injury report later... i am thinking of creating one myself since i am have started to eat MUCH mroe healier than i use, started a while ago.

ok, ok I won't hurt myself but still gotta work on it.

As for meeting during the week, that sounds fine, i wont be doing it too much maybe just once a week other than saturday but it does sound good to me.  Still gotta track down a job as the only income I have now is from mowing dad's and grandmothers lawns.

Alright, small update. We just landed a rather large/important client here at work and it looks like I'll be doing overtime this week. So, next week, sorry for the letdown.

Saturday is still on though.
