The purpose of this forum is to get actual injury data as related to Parkour and freerunning.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY - POSTS NOT CONFORMING TO THIS TEMPLATE WILL BE DELETED.
I will be enforcing this rule from now on 01/31/09 -Steve
This data will help to establish what kinds of injuries are common, likely, and possible, but also establish a framework of how and why some of these injuries occur and hopefully lead to being able to make them preventable or avoidable by others.
Data here may / will also be used in working to insure trainers and traceurs. Insurance companies build "risk profiles" based on information. Right now the have no information, and say that Parkour "is dangerous" with no data to back that up. I feel we will be able to show that relatively speaking parkour is not inherently dangerous, and that injuries actually occur less often than one might think.
In order to be effective, we need more information than "I sprained my ankle doing a catleap". If you wish to put your injury on record (we hope you will, the only way this works is with honest participation) please fill out as many fields as possible. - Entries deemed "incomplete" by APK admins may be deleted without notification.
These reports will be based primarily on whether complete information and doctor or photo confirmation is available.
Thanks!
