What is the Allied Parkour Traceurs Federation?  Is it an established organization?  Is it just you?  I googled it but the only thing that came up was this topic.

sorry traceurs I'm getting used to checking this forum more often now, I mostly stay around the AZPK forum.  as I said before the APTF is an organization that had been just recently founded, seeing as how I am still in school for atleast one more year the progress will be slow but progress none the less.  Our hopes are to spread Parkour as a community transformation vehicle "a way to help people move themselves, others, and additionally create tight bonds between people"  some of us are intermediate advanced/traceurs (if such a name existed) but we are of course all still students and learn from another while teaching another.  My main goal at the moment is to get the academy up a running to start fundamental classes, and to teach anamolie training methods to more skilled taceurs to encourage safety.  Anamolie tarining is used to evaluate the what ifs in parkour.  such as what if my hand slipps on speed vault? or what if i pop vault over a wall and their is a nasty drop on the other side what options do I have? and many more.  basically I will be putting my self in harms way to learn how to become unharmed from harmful situations.  It is a great practice.  The gym is going to be amazing as I have full support of the owner, after I meet up with demon (and I am emailing him after this post) in a couple of weeks and discuss how he runs his place I will have a better knowledge of how to start mine.

why don't you try to seek direction from the people who have been training the longest.. the people who actually developed this discipline? we are very far behind here in america as far as parkour resources go, and you would get more benefit by direct interaction with the actual founders and their companions who learned from them. they mostly reside in europe , but are easy to communicate with thanks to advances in modern technology.

As much as you are absolutely right, I have to face reality and work with what's around me, (adaptation).  I will be going on a journey very soon to see Demon and view his facility.  you know what's sad Muhammad?  I have never really had a teacher, I have had many people who have helped me but never a teacher or someone that really looked out for me, and in a way i am kind of resentful.  So I am lookinf for others, and i know there are no excuses for my own naivity, but right now i have a lot of responsibility and because of that looking for a teacher has been difficult, so I have let oen thing be my moto "The teacher finds the student"  it will happen and I'm a strong believer of that.

Hooking up with Demon for proper instruction is definitely a step in the right direction. It is of great importance that you try and forge connections with the original traceurs, or at the minimum, with their students who have been trained by them in person. This is especially true if you are in a position of teaching. All you have to do is pick up a phonecard and call them, or get online and send out some emails.

I'll make it a priority, sometimes you just need a push in the right direction to force the jump, thank you.
