Crosion_5's Training Log
« on: February 22, 2008, 11:20:30 PM »
Current Crux's
-Long Precisions
-Flexibility
-"The Perfect Roll"
-Underbar's
-General Flow
-Fear of Watching Pedestrians (to a certain extent)
-Endurance
-Ambidexterity
-Dash Vault Perfection

Solutions
-Long Precisions: Practice . . . can't say much more then that.
-Flexibility: Stretch way more.  I need to research some other techniques to help.
-Perfect Roll:  My roll's are good, but I still get a little pain on concrete, especially when fatigued.  Practice basic movements and slow motion rolling.
-Underbar's: Demon's Underduct (thanks Demon ;))
-Flow: Practice, and planned routes, instead of individual movements.
-Peds Watching me: Get over it
-Endurance: train train train!!!
-Ambidexterity: practice moves first one way, and then the other (such as palm-spins)
-Dash Vault Perfection: I still need to work on this.  I never trained this much because I never thought it useful enough to catch my interest, but nevertheless . . . train!

*Please don't post her unless you have some reall good tips for me.  I don't want to have to work witha bunch of idle chit chat.  Thanks!

2/23/08- I originally wanted to get some serious training in this day, but I ended up teaching someone some parkour fundamentals instead.  It helped me to go over some of the basics again, and to really think about the important, yet simple aspects of parkour.  I hope to continue to train this individual, and I think she has a lot of potential.

2/26/08- Hmm . . . I met with the rest of the Springs guys at CSCS.  We got kicked out of there after a while, and made our way to UCCS.  My training was dampered by the fact that I soon ripped off the skin from one of my fingers.  Then soon after I disscovered that my knee was bleeding and soaking through my sweat pants.  I decided to leave earlier then I wanted because I couldn't make it stop!

Lesson: Bring a first aid kit.  You never know when you will bust a knee or something.  (and I'm an Eagle Scout too, so I should know that, lol!)

3/4/08- Although I was not able to meet with the springs guys, before, while I was delivering phone books for a fund raiser, I decided to throw in some parkour wherever I could.  It made the whole fund raiser thing more fun, and I was able to train some things, so it was win-win.

I also learned that it is difficult to do things while carrying 6+ bags of phone books with you.

3/7/08- Wonderful day for parkour in Colorado Springs.  My brother and I headed to Academy Park Loop to check out an area I discovered a couple days ago.  The place is pretty awesome, but it lacks challenging vaulting obsticles.

I taught him some basic rolling and landing technique.  After a while we headed out to PPC to train, and he mostly watched me do stuff.  One highlight was a 13' gap that i jumped.  It was fairly easy, but scary because of the height and injury possibility.  I also realized that I should look to invest in some good parkour shoes, rather then do with cheap running shoes.

Later at home I just messed around in my front yard with backflips, frontflips, and wallflips.

I'm going to implement a better warm-up routine, as well as a more in deapth stretching routine.  I need to start working on things daily, as opposed to every-other-day.  It will be tough because of my busy schedule though.

What kind of training routine do you have besides Parkour or is Parkour your training? Structured at all?
