well...

I frontflip is harder to land because you can't see where you need to put your feet like you can with a backflip.

But with a backflip, a lot of people have a fear of it, a fear of going backwards ya know?

So taking fear out of the equation... a backflip is easier.

It's really all about personal preference.

The front flip and back flip have two completely different feelings and techniques to doing them, so trying to say which one would be easier for you is difficult.  I don't know what experiences you've had with either flip (such as doing them into pools or if you've ever done them in a gym before).  The best way to find out which is easier for you is to try to find a gym or some other controlled environment and try both.  The one that you felt more comfortable doing is the one that'll probably be easier for you to learn.  But dont just give up on them if they both seem hard.  It's all about progression man!

Good luck figuring out those flips!  Train hard, train safe.

Yes, pay attention to what Cent has said.

It's not about what's easier.. it's about what's easier for you.

Myself... frontflips are easier for me.

As far as which is easier to learn, that depends on you, like Cent said.

I think front flips are easier to practice OUTSIDE of a padded gym area, because once you get the general technique down, they won't hurt you too much on the grass or sand. I just got the front flip in the gym Saturday and I'm gonna work on it in the sand pit this week.

Backflip, on the otherhand, I still have to practice in the gym.

Backflips are more natural to me.  The movement seems more forced and awkward in a front flip.  I think that it really doesn't matter all that much.  Just do what you want.  I train both front and back flips becasue I enjoy them both.

I personally think front flips are a bit more impressive because I view them harder to do, though I will agree that backflips take more courage at first.

Workout?  Are you asking how much energy is needed to perform the trick?  I don't understand.

As in everything else, if your technique is good then you should be capable of it. It would be wise to be in better shape just because its better for you and can only help you, but for a front/backflip you should be fine. I would suggest a front flip first because, for me anyway, it helps lead to other flips. Once I got my fronts I learned a sideflip pretty quickly. Oh and fronts are safer to practice on say grass when you're just starting off. Just my two cents. Good luck!

Backflip = easier to land
Front Flip = easier to not die

but I think side flips are the easiest of all flips. They are really easy to land AND worst is you fall on your knee and arm. Plus! I think the are the easiest to learn outside without pads. Just roll off your friends back then just punch a little more and walla!
side flip.

Practice it on a tramp or with pads first.  Dang, you don't want to break your neck, lol!  I think any flip takes a measure of body awareness.  You need to know how to move your body in order to perform anything.  Flips especially.

It is definitely fear, but that doesn't make you different from anyone else. If you can find a gym with a trainer there, go for that. If that's not an option, then just get one of your buddies you trust to "spot" you until you get over that fear. By spot I mean stand on your left side, hold your shirt in their right hand so they have control of you, and then when you go up for the backflip, they will push the back of your legs up to help you rotate. It's still important that you jump up, use your arms, and tuck your legs though, or else its not gonna work even with a spotter. Good luck!

side flip.
Doesnt sound like a sideflip to me. sounds more like a double leg. My understanding is that in a sideflip, you rotate about your head, while in a double leg, the point of rotation is your back.
