Cat Fountain Maintenance
« on: February 14, 2008, 03:16:36 PM »
I went by Cat Fountain yesterday afternoon and there was a maintenance crew down there.

All the grates were off and they were rebuilding the fountain mechanics to get it up and running again.

I talked with one of the guys and he said it could take up to a few months to get it back in working order.

I'm not sure if the grates will stay off that entire time, or what hours the fountain will be on during the summer.

At least the broken grates will likely get fixed.

Just a heads up.

Thanks for that bro! I still plan on meeting down there to train every weekend though. I think that this project will not last long, as the water in the summer will quickly become dreadfully contaminated with heroine laced hobo piss. Either way, cat fountain is still my second house.

Thats cool that they are fixing it up. Anyone who trains around there should be careful of tightened security though!

My buddies and I check it out for the first time today, and all the grates were gone.  It was still sick, though.

OMG! Thta's going to be sooo cool if they get the watter back to the fountain! I've done parkour there when the surfaces were wet before and they still have the good old Cat Fountain grip, so I'm just thinking here... a Fountain Jam! Evry one should get on there bathing suits and do parkour there while the watter is running during the summer untill we get kicked out lol. I don't know, just an idea  ;)!

i'm surprised they haven't put up a "no parkour" sign there. that place is probably the most famous parkour spot in america at this point.

I've been kicked out by cops before, but it was a really lazy cop. And thats no insult to cops in general: he didn't even get out of his car. He used a bullhorn to tell me from the street. We didn't hear him till he'd been doing it for a couple minutes. But most cops are fine with it.

I didn't see it as pathetic...I think he had pulled someone over, was writing up the ticket and just looked over and saw us.

I didn't know a doughnut was so complex as to warrant a spot in the category of "multitasking". ;)

Although, it does have a hole in it and that glazing--pardon me...

...Cat Fountain is awesome.  I've lived in Colorado my whole life and I only saw it just last weekend.  I just hope that the maintenance won't ruin the Goodity.

So, they've got a fence around it now, apparently.  But as long as there's no "keep out" sign, one would be good to hop it and play around until told to do otherwise.
