Saturday 02.16.08

dips 3-6-6-5-5-6
push ups 9-8-6-7-7

Note: i haven't had much motivation for much of anything lately, so I decided that I need to stop slacking and I took an idea from another thread, and made a rule while i was working. i was counting inventory, which is terribly boring, and i decided that for every shelf i count, i'd take the amount of different items and do an excercise for them. then the amount went down so i stopped. didn't think 2's and 3's would make too much of a difference, but i could be wrong.

also, my workouts have gone down severely this week, i did a few light workouts along with alot of other stuff, that i don't really consider a workout, like hiking, snowskating and tree climbing. climbing is very addictive. ;) but i was also pretty sore from previous workouts. so I think monday i'll ramp it back up again to a point where I'm working out at least five days a week with two rest days.

not anything structured today i've been sick the last couple days and it really hit me today, didn't think my body would like it so much if i gave it something else to heal.
just some running and other random parkour stuff like tree climbing, jumping around, some more running, a bit of falling.

diet:

breakfast:whole grain cereal with almonds
some chips with salsa
lunch: hash browns
dinner: vegetarian lasagna

been a little while since i've logged anything here...i've been trying out different ways to workout and i finally found one that i think suits me. although i will continue to do "conventional" workouts like push ups, pull ups, squats and things of that nature i have also been looking into method naturelle which has it's appeals to me. personally while i can and usually do do workouts like push ups and squats they easily bore me and i wanted to find something that would really work my body as well as be effective. so i just went outside instead and started messing around, doing everything from qm to climbing trees to practicing jumps on various spots to jogging around the park i live by and i think it is more effective because i seem to be much more tired from it afterwards, things like jumps have become easier and i seem to have more energy.

so recently my workouts have looked something like this:

2 hours of random activity :)

which, coincidentally is exactly what i did today. tomorrow i will probably do the same, but i'm trying to build up forearm and bicep strength right now. for some reason most of the stuff i do focuses on triceps and chest strength. forearm, for me, is much easier to focus on so i'm trying to come up with something for biceps, i'm not strong enough to do a pull up yet and sadly not even a variation of one. i'm thinking about just doing bicep curls until i have enough strength to do pull ups, then scrapping the curls but if anyone has a suggestion that'd be awesome.

EDIT:

nvm i found out today that i can do a partial pull up and just kip the rest of the way, difficult for me still but i'm getting there

Kipping pullups work. If you can also do some type of rows because those work as well.

rows are working out well, they are difficult still but doable so they are good.

March 07 2008

morning

20 minutes of yoga
40 minutes of jogging/walking
another 20 minutes of yoga

probably take it pretty easy tonight after work, weekends are usually my light workout days because of work.
