february challenge is here
« on: February 08, 2006, 08:45:51 AM »
the new challenge is to challenge yerself with negatives, that means eccentric contraction, that means slowdowns, resisting gravity with weights or whatever you get the idea.
we are all stronger eccentrically so i challenge you all to test yerself eccentrically and concentrically to max out reps or max out weight,  whatever it is that you do post it here.

remember to be safe and use a partner especially when using very heavy weights. to max out eccentrically requires that you can control, even stop but not push a weight back up.  always use a partner and always use yer head when trying new things.
i hunt ninjas! bitches.

That lifting technique should be employed the majority of the time for max results IMO.  I see too many people at the gym throw around heavy weights through the use of momentum.  Granted, they are using max weight but will not see the max results one can get through controlled eccentric and concentric movement.

There was one guy at the gym that I use to talk to a lot that hardly ever used a ton of weight but used slow controlled movements.  He was super-cut and very strong.
