PKFR USA National Jam (Pittsburgh, PA - June 13-15)
« on: January 14, 2008, 03:16:59 PM »
PKFR USA National Jam will be held in Pittsburgh, PA this year on June 13-15.

JAM SCHEDULE (SUBJECT TO CHANGE):
DAY 1 - Local Training/Training in our "Facility"
DAY 2 - Gym Training/Local Jam
DAY 3 - Downtown Jam

We have lodging space for anyone attending at the Verona Presbyterian Church.

Here is a list of things to bring:
- Money (Food, transportation, etc.)
- Clothing
- Sleeping bag, pillow, etc.
- Phone (if you have one)

DON'T BRING:
- Anything you wouldn't want lost, stolen, broken, etc.
- Drugs or Alcohol

Cameras and camcorders may be a good idea though. As long as you hold onto them at all times.

You can also bring your own food or drinks.
(We usually each pitch in for pizza or some kind of food depending on what everyone eats.)

Also, transportation is a MUST. I don't care if you drive, carpool, take a taxi, greyhound, plane, bus or a combination of them, you just need transportation here and back. Talk to me before hand so I can help you out as much as possible.

Unlike some other jams we've been to and held, we plan for this one to have very little structure. That way we can all actually have fun!

I have a plan for this summer, and if it ends up working out, I will be hitting this up.

Hell. If my plan doesn't work out, I will probably be hitting this up.

You bring a sleeping bag/pillow/etc. and we're all just gonna sleep in the rec hall of the church. It's a huge room so we'll be able to fit anyone who decides to come.

I might try to make it out there with some of the Richmond VA guys.  That's graduation week for my area, so we'll see how that works out, but I'd really like to come.

quick question:
does the gym cost anything?  or do we just need money for the norm stuff, like food and gas?

Yeah the gym session is $8. If it was our gym we'd let you all in free. I might ask them if we could get an extra discount since.
We're bringing so many people.

i'd like to come for two of these days depending on my schedule. By the 3rd day everyone is usually tired and sore. just a suggestion from experience at other jams, you might want to have the downtown/city jam first or second since by the 3rd day many people will be tired and sore. it would be better having the gym jams last (since anyone can go to a gym indoors at anytime in any city, but its the outside jams that count). I know a lot of people can jam three days in a row, but many new guys can't including me cause im not so young anymore. this is just my opinion on this cause ive been to a ton of jams where everyone was dead by the last day.

Ill come and try to bring my friend along (we live a bit east of the burgh), pm me if you don't care for having a 13 year old and a 15 year old along.
If I can't speed vault it I can monkey vault it.
If I can't monkey vault it I can kong it.
If I can't kong it I can kash it.
If I can't kash it I can climb it.
If I can't climb it there's another way around it.

Well the first day, we really don't jam. We chill out, eat, get to know everyone, and train a bit inside with our equipment. That way none of us our tired for Saturday and Sunday. Saturday morning is the gym and right after it is the local jam then Sunday is downtown. So yeah  ;D

Ill come and try to bring my friend along (we live a bit east of the burgh), pm me if you don't care for having a 13 year old and a 15 year old along.

And that's perfectly fine. Some of our students, ages 10, 11, and 12 will be there, so that's definitely not a problem.

If you do end up going, I'll probably end up following with my car (Assuming you're driving) or something.  I'm sure a few others from Schaumburg would be interested.
